I've heard it is a pain in the ass......hence not for me.

Hi, you don't need poppers etc, all you need to do is use a toy well lubed. Start small and build in size overtime. Do not start too big. It is a little painful at first but as you get used to the size increase the slight pain will be replaced by pleasure. Use plenty of lube.
Few tips. Use a water based lube as others can weaken condoms causing them to split.
Lipsticks can also have that affect. So if you use a condom for oral change it for anal.
