Research your local munch and what bdsm nights are in your area.
We go to the fet nights at Townhouse and have met some great people over the past couple of years, people usually happy to chat with people new to the scene  |

I would definitely start off by going to a munch...not necessarily a club. A club can be a huge step if you haven't dabbled in fetish at all!
If you go to your local munch (the name given for a local social gathering of likeminded fetishists) then you can chat to people, get to know what it's all about and meet friends who may go to organised events. Then when you do want to go to an event, you can go with people that you know and you are less likely to feel overwhelmed. There are also a few 'play munches' out there where socialising and mild BDSM activity are combined. There is a very well known BDSM/Fetish website out there which I am not allowed to give you here, but if you type in Fetish Website into your browser, they usually come up top. Join this and spend a few days finding your feet. Then join groups that are local to you and figure out where your local munches are. You have loads around your area!
