The problem is a small minority of people who think its acceptable to send abusive replies when you bother to send a polite no thanks message. Being called a fat slag or similar in response to a polite no is not acceptable and the reason many women find it easier to not reply. Also, a lot of women and couples can get 50 plus messages a day which is really not easy to reply to.
