Which is why I pointed out that many of the comments about risk were about risks to the woman. For the guy the risks are not so high.

As with everything, there are always risks. You have to weigh the risk and take precautions.
For me the precaution I take for vaginal or anal penetrative sex is to wear a condom as, if she has anything, the risk of catching it from unprotected penetrative sex to either is quite high.
On the other hand for BJs the risk of getting anything she may already have is a lot lower and the risk of getting anything anyone else who had been there just before you and left his load is even smaller. So I'm happy doing that bear.
