What makes you push the 'report' button?

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

I'm pretty easy going when it comes down to it, but in the last few days I've pushed 'report' twice. Once because someone was trying to give me money to convince me to meet for coffee, and another because someone send me really foul insults for saying 'I'm sorry, I'm not interested' after sending a dozen messages back and forth.

So what is it that makes you click the 'report to admin' button?

Abusive messages. I was taught that if you didn't have anything nice to say, don't say it.

When I didn't reply to somebody I wasn't interested in this morning, they called me ignorant. I explained the above, and they called me "CUNT FACE!"

Click.

Normally if someone has got personal, one particular lady rained nasty abuse to us for having an opinion in messages.

More inclined to hit report if someone offers us incentives to meet rather than a rare childish insult as we simply just block them.

Have reported a few profiles where the torso shots don't match the head shots after a quick reverse image search revealing the torso belongs to someone else usually a fitness model or pornstar.

Single men who post photographs in which they hide their own face but clearly show the face of a woman. Not only is this grossly unfair and against Fab rules, it is also potentially breaking the law under the new "revenge porn" laws.

Very little but children in photos, people other than the op who can be clearly identified in photos, outright nasty racism and abuse in messages. I rarely report abuse in the forums I think it should remain where it is so that people can see what the person is like.

Nothing anyone says has made me report them, not that I remember anyway. I didn't run to mummy when I was a child,I'm not doing it as an adult. I would report someone who made new profiles to send abuse. Not because the abuse bothers me but to let them know there are consequences for their actions. I have reported a couple of profiles where they have said on here as a single now, don't know how to change from couple to single. Helping them out

I'm more than happy to be paid to knock back a cappuccino with someone. Travel costs required too.

Your missing out. Messages like that usually correlate with pub closing time.

Never got round to asking what the incentive is? For risk of feeling undervalued.

Net pics irritate me a lot. I found one the other day, where she had a mixture of net pics and one's that may have been genuine. She was meet verified by a few people, so I thought she had improved her look by nicking pics. Reported her. Not gone yet, though.

People passing off pictures that aren't them as their own. Guys or 'girls' messaging me from single profiles asking me to meet them as a couple or vice versa. Persistent abuse after I've said no. People offering me financial incentives to meet them. I don't spend my life reporting but I assume if people flout the site rules attempting to contact me then they'll do the same to others.

I reported a whole profile as being fake with stolen pics. I knew he was fake as I'd been approached by him years ago on a Facebook app and did my research. He had a whole life around this American body builder, who had a Twitter account and blogged almost daily on his website. I'd forgotten about reporting him,and he was cam verified which made me laugh. He was 150 miles from me according to fab gps, while the real man was tweeting from America that day

Only used it a couple of times, the first being where a guy using a fake couples profile posted our username and my place of work in the status update, because Mr hadn't replied to his last couple of messages within half an hour.

The other time was for a fake profile as well, if I remember correctly. Unless messages are ridiculously abusive, we just delete and block

I report abusive messages, not because I was affected by it but because I know that there are many out there that aren't as thick skinned as I am, and would take offence if they received something petty. So if I report him (normally a him) then he may be removed before he can abuse someone else.

I have also reported people who send me a private pic with their message which isn't of them (I am pretty sure Prince Harry isn't on here although he did send me his pic) I couldn't report the pic as it wasn't public so I reported the message.

I've reported three.

All were no shows, one of them after a week of messaging and I went to the expense of a hotel room and he pretended he was coming right up until he was still 'stuck in traffic 15 miles away' an hour after he was supposed to have arrived. Funny how his mobile was within half a mile.

One of the others actually sent me to someone elses hotel room, I think as revenge for them being messed around.

I reported someone on another site who was using pictures stolen from the web. I ququickly found they belonged to a Thai model. The person still claimed to be female and that the Thai photos were representative of what they wanted to do. In the end they admitted to being male, I reported them but they are still there!

Nearly reported someone on here for arranging a meet then asking me for £50 "towards car tax". But they had 28 good verifications by meet sp I just put it down to a one off and blocked them.

I never used to report anyone even tho some people think it ok to be abusive just because your a guy. I've since started to report 'no shows' abuse and 'dodgy' profiles like the porn site disguised as a single fem who was trying to get guys to put credit card details onto a Web form! Yes really. Apart from that reporting someone is a waste of time as admin are very weak in dealing with the perpetrators but take the easy route and suspend people who retaliate. I've reported people for having pics on their profile which I know aren't them....sometimes because I was present when the pics were taken!

Chancers, fantastists and timewasters...can't be bothered with them.

Need to know basis

When a single F or M clearly states on there profiles that the partner will always be present to play....thats not being single...

I only click report for illegal suggestions. Which surprisingly, I get a lot of.

Anything abusive or insulting, I just block them. They don't even warrant my energy of filling out a report form.

It's only ever men I've clicked the button on, I don't think I've ever had abuse or problems with women or tv/ts

Even as a man, I can honestly say that there's an abundance of dicks on here (at least in my area) and I don't mean the erect kind

I've hit the report button twice in the last month or so. Once from a guy who got really abusive using the c word aimed at me. All because he didn't like a reply to one of his posts.

The second time was a post containing a very racist remark.

I was surprised at mod hadn't spotted it before I did.

In seven years I've only reported one message for being abusive. A picture of mine was rejected as too rude: it's similar to my avatar my hand is just lower. So for a day I looked at pictures and reported all that had objects inserted in arses! Petty and childish? You bet, but fair is fair and there should be consistency.

I don't report racist/homophobic etc threads. I like to see the particular moths that flock to the flame.

"I'm pretty easy going when it comes down to it, but in the last few days I've pushed 'report' twice. Once because someone was trying to give me money to convince me to meet for coffee, and another because someone send me really foul insults for saying 'I'm sorry, I'm not interested' after sending a dozen messages back and forth.

So what is it that makes you click the 'report to admin' button?"

We've reported someone who offered money for sex with Flik...they were also recommending drugs (of the non-prescription/over the counter variety)

Snap! Admin can only change things if they know there is a problem.

I've hardly had any abusive messages since I stopped replying to those I had no interest in so it's been a while since I've needed to report one of those, but anything I see to be fake or misleading gets reported so it can be corrected.

I'd report if there are other people with faces shown in their photos, especially if they go to the effort of hiding their own.

I also report if I reply to a meet today and suddenly find myself asked if I mind playing with a large group of guys and don't mind paying £50 to cover costs.

Surprised to hear how many of you guys have had abusive messages! We haven't had any... yet.

We've reported one profile however that seemed to just have conflicting information all over the place. For example they'd posted a meeting in the southwest where they were usually based despite the fact that they were apparently going to our club in Leeds that night - but we just thought they were a bit dim! They were asking for us to go on skype all day even though we said that we didn't like cams and were busy with family anyway. We also had verifications so we didn't see the point chatting when we were meeting them at a club that we'd pre arranged to go to before we even stared chatting with them. They let us down very last minute (which wasn't an issue for us anyway but still) and then when we'd left the club in the early hours they were still bugging us for skype?? After our report for non-meet (and them just being sooo annoying) we googled their phone number and it was linked to someone who lived in Rochdale. From now on that'll be our first step before meeting someone!
