Joint / single profile, one email address?

I have a single profile and would like to set up a joint profile.

Do I really have to set up a new email account for the second profile? I can understand for single profiles but surely it's secure enough to have the contrasting profiles linked to just one email.

Yes you really do. But it is easy to set up a gmail account for the 2nd profile
