Is it me or am I the only one who struggles to attach the clips on my suspender belts to my stockings?
Any recommendations for perhaps a different kind of belt?

"I have the same problem but find if I do the back ones first it's a bit easier!! X"
What a good idea, I didn't think of that! Are all suss belts the same where you have to slip the material through or are there alternatives? |

Suspender belt falls down, taking knickers with it! Yes I know the point is to eventually get my knickers off but most unattractive when they are hanging round my knees |

Metal clips, and fasten the back ones first and work round.
I wear stockings most days. They shouldn't ping if you clip them well. Also avoid putting too much fabric into the clip as it will feel lumpy if you do.
I find 6 or 10 strap suspenders work much better than the 4s. The best suspenders I have came from whatkatiedid and the 10 straps are from ebay for about £35 - but for me its an every day item so the price doesn't bother me. |

If your belt is falling down, its likely too large, or on the wrong closing with the hook and eyes. Try a smaller size. |

The ones I have are only four straps so maybe that's where I'm going wrong.
I'll have a look at that site. £35 is affordable for me. Thank you |

Ivery found the best hold ups to be marks and Spencer. About £10 a pair but worth it as was spending far more than that on cheaper ones |

check you are wearing the right size of hold ups, and don't wear them so high on your legs? |

The other tip for hold ups is to make sure you don't have any lotion or powder on your legs.
If they don't stick well, slick the silicone band with a little warm water, and then pop them on. |

I also use metal ones as the plastic one tend to stop working after a while. I find holds up work so for me I'll have to stay with stockings and suspenders.
I was once told to put them on the bed and faster them on then put them in like a pair of tights. Hay presto. They are on and fastened.

Make sure it is a proper suspender belt...metal grips and more than 4 straps...and then fasten the rear most first, and work your way round to the front. When that has been done, you can then readjust the position of the suspender straps, re-fitting where necessary.
Then, and most people forget this, adjust the tension on the straps to make sure your stockings do not slip...to little and down they ride, to much and they have a tendency to "ping" at the most inappropriate time.
Hope this helps |

Cheap suspender belts with thin, wobbly plastic clips can be a real nuisance. Best to get a nice belt with stronger clips....always soooo sexy wearing stockings and suspenders.

Yes I'm right handed. I think I need to get some sturdier belts with better clips. Or just stick to hold ups |

J has an 8 strap with metal clasps, wears hold ups with them as you seem to get a lot more patterned ones than you do stockings but does also have vintage nylons, I am called on to do the back ones, a task that I'm more than happy to do.
A truly sexy look.

I got into suspenders when I was a size 26. Go for a nice wide belt one, and they sit really well. Again go for as many straps as you can find - I found 10 worked best when I was big. |

Just as I was about to walk out of the door to go to the church on my wedding day my stocking popped out of my clip. My dad had to hold my dress up while I sorted it as everyone else had left |

Thanks, I wondered if it was that. Tried two on in the shop and though they were both fine but obviously didn't have stockings attached to drag em down!
I love that you wear them every day, I wish I could be bothered to go to that effort for work! |

Always try them on with stockings! I've had to switch to a size 10 belt for some of mine just so it sits well, as the 12s were slipping. Also, remember that some stockings such as FF won't stretch the same way so less likely to pull than modern nylons.
I'm cheating for work today, and its hold ups! |

As with others here i start at the back. Also I extend the straps, then when they are all fixed I adjust the length to keep in place. |

I pull on my stockings then hold the bit at the back needing attached - pull them back down (and the belt), back up, straighten again then start at the front. I agree holdups are much less hassle though. |

Definitely liking the vintage style suspenders and corsets. Much easier to clip onto stockings. But why do the make some outfits with the suspender part so long. You'd think I was wanting to keep my socks up!! |

Attach back suspenders to stockings when off...slip stockings on and then put belt on...and finally fasten front suspenders....all that wrestling and twisting puts you right off the mood!!! |

i find some of the suspender straps to long but there are usually sewing places that will shorten them, as for long stocking legs ave fishnets tend to be long, but looking from a manufacters point of view its a limited market, maybe as a prev post try stocking shops on ebay |

Lavant have a good range of 'hold ups', bit pricey but they seem to stay the course on a smooth thigh on the odd occasions my altar ego breaks out. She's had no problems, lol. Does help if you don't use moisturizing cream before putting them on though.
She gave up nearly putting her back out trying to use suspender belts ages ago...though for special occassions.... |

Don't go for the belts with plastic clips, they do ping undone, metal clips every time, and use the six strap belts, much better, hold ups I do find slip down though, but then use the belt with hold ups, best of both worlds..... |
