Wheelchair Friendly Swinger Clubs

Hi again,
My husband and I use to be regulars to Utopia in Telford, as we live in the West Midlands. It was great because it was very wheelchair friendly. However, its been closed for some time and we can't seem to find anymore that cater for those in wheelchairs. If anyone could tell me of any or offer any advice that would be great, thanks.  |

someone started a similar thread on here the other day, think the verdict was there are very few if any wheelchair accessible clubs which is a shame
maybe we should start a campain to bring them inline with the DDA? |

I missed that thread 
I think its terrible that in the year 2010 they haven't got any wheelchair friendly clubs... they must think that wheelchair users aren't swingers lol.  |

Try giving Atlantis a call (in Stoke on Trent) we have been there and as far as I remember, its on 2 floors and some of the play area is down stairs.

i dont think anyone thinks that people in wheel chairs dont swing, but lets be honest how many are there that do?
Clubs are there to make a profit and they not going to spend loads of money doing their club up to make it wheel chair friendly to cater for half a dozen customersd a year |

I might of just plucked this from thin air, but isn't it law that venues cater for this sort of thing? Or is that just a work place with more than a certain number of staff? I thought I'd read it somewhere thats all.
Or as its classed as a 'private' place do these rules not apply?
I hope you find a good place

I think private members clubs dont have the same rules and laws as public places
Because at the end of the day private clubs and pick and choose who goes in where as public places cant
i could be wrong tho

i thought it was the law that if you have a place like shop or club that it has to be wheelchair friendly ? |

Thank you guys for all of the advice, its nice to know that there are sooo many helpful people out there. I think I might look up the laws in regards to private clubs and being wheelchair friendly.  |

I would contact the club of your choice by phone and ask if they would allow a wheelchair into the club. If they will, perhaps they could get a few of the single guys to expend some of their pent up energy in carrying the wheelchair in! But don`t ask this single man to do it as my dicky tickuuurrr will not allow me to lift much!  |

LIBERTY ELITE, would be excellent for you, apart from being one of the best clubs in the country it is also on one level and very accessible plus has on site accomodation.

Private members clubs are subject to the same laws as in public places.
I was a member of a golf club until recently and they said as much when they installed wheelchair access and bathrooms for people with disabilities. |

That’s a great idea as I would love to try a club or 2 I may need a hand too |
