I often find that people from my area have notes on their profiles stating they are in (for example) Newcastle, looking for meets. I think I'm right in thinking nobody from Newcastle would ever see that update though.
Others from miles away sometimes ask for a meet as they're in my area but don't show up on local searches.
Whenever I'm away from home, I change the postcode on my profile so that I show up in searches in the area that I'm in.
Seems to work for me - does this work for anyone else? Or are people not aware they can do this? Would increase chances of hooking up if people updated their location (I know mobile shows who is local, but many don't use this it seems!). |

I've noticed this a lot too.
people in North Wales stating "London for the weekend, looking to meet"
they must be hoping that others from north wales are also going to London on that same weekend and looking to meet too ... no one down south are seeing that you plonker!  |

I do this all the time but straight after I change my location I also update my status so people notice me. You will appear on peoples search results too as long as you are within their filters

I change my postcode if I'm travelling so that I appear on the browse list for that area, then update my status with where I'm going. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. |

If you put up a meet request and choose the correct area and postcode then it shows when they filter the meet requests. I rarely remember to change my profile postcode but then I'm usually going to a club so don't need to arrange a meet. |

if we are going to be away from home for any length of time like long wkends or holls we post on the meets section and in the camping section found in the clubs section |

Errrr. Maybe I should change my profile country to New Zealand for the next couple of weeks then but I also want to keep up to date with my 'local' happenings back home. Confused.me.NZ ?? |
