Depends what you want it for, the ipod is good if you want to be limited to the amount of memory you have and things you can do, while the galaxy provides freedom to extend memory, you can download, customise the skin without having to jailbreak it unlike the ipod, so be sensible and avoid apple unless it's an ipod they are very crap lol android is clearly the future |

"Android is more user friendly so Samsung, we have all our Samsung products linked wireless to the TV, Printer, hi-fi etc so it does the same as Apple but not as over priced."
Would love to know how you did that ? We have samsung tv, laptop, phones and tried to link them using serviio but couldn't figure it out |

We have a Samsung Blu Ray player which as smart TV and Android apps on it which picks up our phones, Samsung Tabs and printer.
We also use our Chromecast plug in for sites like Mobdro which we stream films from.
SVP do some good little boxes starting from about £20 which will stream your Android stuff.

"What the best tablet to buy? "
It depends on what you need a tablet for. I've been using Apple for a few years but recently purchased the Samsung TabPro because it came on top for my business needs. Both tablets are great in their own right. -Mr. |

Biggest problem with iPad....connectivity = zero for peripherals etc. oh and inflated cost. Apple have the biggest markup on profits of any tech company. |

Both android and iOS are great platforms. We find it best to stick to one platform across devices though to get the best of them working in concert. We have an iPhone and iPad each, share an iMac and have an Apple TV. Everything synchronises beautifully and we'd lose some of that simplicity if we had a mixture of platforms.
In other words, if your phone is android get an android tablet, or if you have an iPhone get an iPad |

How rich are you feeling?
Apple are over priced and over hyped. They do the job but at massive cost with a device that's handcuffed.
If all you're going to do is browse the web and watch a bit of catch up tv or you tube you can't go too far wrong with a hudl2.
Unfortunately, this question will never get an easy answer. Both android and apple tend to attract people who think the other is the devil incarnate.
If you've no other apple products it's probably pointless to buy an ipad anyway. |

iPad is excellent, because of the tight hold kept on it they achieve excellent speed from fairly average hardware.
BUT
It doesn't support SD cards, as said above the Hudl2 is an excellent device for little money, put a different launcher on it and all Tesco stuff vanishes giving you a standard Android tab that can take 32Gb SD cards for your music / movies etc. and on that size screen it's visually pretty close to the iPad too...
but the Galaxy Tab S is damned good, and if you shop around they are available for a decent price (I paid £200 delivered) takes a 128Gb SD card and has a top class screen but not so great graphics processor.
None of the above will do anything useful in their lives, you will probably not compose your masterpiece on them, but as fancy toys they are all good. |

There are many factors, a top of the range Android tablet will be much the same as an iPad. The deciding factors are generally:
1) What phone do you have? As has been mentioned before, it's easiest staying in the same ecosystem.
Other than that choose
Apple if: You want the best made, most pleasurable to use, most stylish machine and operating system, and don't mind paying for it.
Android if: You are more price conscious, and want to be able to have a proper tinker with the way it works. |

Memory is a lot less of an issue with cloud storage.
Ipad/iphone generally a more stable platform and less risk of malware, flash issue less of a problem as video sites use html5 if any good. Only cam broadcasting is the real problem.
Android, can be great, picked up 4g kindle hdx in amazon sale and surprised how good compared to old Asus transformer that is slowing down.
If on a budget consider hp stream windows 8 tablet great pricing. |
