Butt plug advice - going bigger

I've a smallerish, but rather pleasurable butt plug from Ann Summers, but want to try something larger but would like some advice on long terms effects etc
Too often with I couples I find I'm too tight for comfortable penetration unless the guy's cock or her strap-on is small in girth, say less than an inch. Pretty sure its not a relaxation thing since I always feels very at ease and relaxed and often gagging to be penetrated. So I'm thinking I would like to open up a little and thought a larger diameter butt plug could help. However, I'm concerned about any after effects from wearing one, especially a larger one, for long enough for it to be effective, if indeed it will be.

I think your bottom does learn to open more if it's had larger things in it.
As for long term effects, I have tried to research them, due to the same concerns as you I guess. As far as I can tell, unless you get really carried away stretching your sphincter muscle then there shouldn't be a problem.
Rather than trying to wear a big plug for hours I think you're better off just using some dilators or a dildo up to the size you want to take. And just get used to taking them.
As much as I want it, unless there's been lots of anal foreplay, I'm still too tight at first. I take control of things by making him stay still as I guide him in and push onto it. |

Many thanks for the advice. Have always been worried about the inflatable ones bursting of leaking and pushes lots of air where it should not go and maybe under pressure enter the blood stream. Am I being paranoid? |

If an inflatable plug burst it would just be like a fart. Forcing air into your bloodstream requires proper compressed air rather than slightly compressed.
I burst one once and it just split along the seam. It was funny rather than dangerous. The danger from inflatable plugs is from letting someone else pump without concentrating. My wife and I were having sex and she started to pump as I was close to cumming. I sudden realised my bum hurt lots as she was pumping like mad.
I got a little tear from that, so not too serious but it did hurt. You need to be a bit careful not to stretch too quickly. |

the doc johnsons come in different sizes, but the thing is once they are in the neck is usually not really stretching you much.
I have found that getting really relaxed and playing with a doc j medium by putting it in and out a few times really works well.
Just putting it in once is a major sting time and thats it, then taking it back out re-lubing and going a few times just gets easier and easier. I guess perhaps that what you will need to do before penetrative sex. This way you are controlling getting used to it. Perhaps putting on a show for the other person, that way they are entertained and you are getting used to something going in and out.
And plenty of lube.

Most men's penises are smaller than a really good poo. I'm just saying.
Take it slowly, relax, use really good lube that is suitable for the condoms you're using. The more you do it, the less it'll hurt.

I would agree with someone who posted earlyish on the thread about using a dildo.
Butt plugs do tend to have a thinner 'neck' so that the anus can contract once the main part of the plug is inserted, whereas a dildo tends to maintain the girth throughout the whole length.
Start with a smallish girth and gradually work your way up in size and remember .. LOADS of LUBE AND PRACTICE, you'll soon be easily accommodating the size of cock you want  |
