Newbie in need of advice!

Hi Fab Forumers!
I know this question has probably been asked a million times, but i was hoping to get some feedback specifically based on my profile.
I don't seem to have much luck in getting responses from people on here. I'm not sure if it's my pictures, my profile text or just the way i make contact, but i seem to get a lot more responses from women on standard dating sites than i do here, and haven't had too much of a problem arranging dates. However, i'm aware the end goal on those sites is very different to here, and i certainly don't want to mislead anyone, so i usually call it a day with them if i don't feel anything... (Hope that doesn't sound too cold, I'm not sure how else to put it).
I've been told i'm a charming and good looking guy by a number of people in real life, but that doesn't seem to translate very well on this website!
Maybe my pictures are too beardy? (i tend to go through phases between stubble and more of a beard) Or is it that my profile is just plain boring haha!
If anyone could offer any advice, i'd be really grateful. I'm a respectful guy and just want to have fun with like minded people, but it seems very hard to get to that stage!
Thanks in advance to any kind souls taking their time to help!

Cut the first three paragraphs - they say nothing and are just waffle.
Add some body shots (torso, bum, stuff you think shows your physique). Keep the cock shots to a minimum.
The likelihood is that females/couples will not approach you unless they really like what they see. Check out the Meets listings and see if there is anything you can 'apply' for.
Your best bet is to dive into the forums and chat - let your personality show and entice people into wanting to meet you.
If you are near a club - consider going there to meet people in the flesh (no pun intended).
We blokes are ten a penny - you got to realise that - which means you have to do the work.
Be polite, have manners, flirt etc.
Wish you well. |

Thanks Whistler, really appreciate the input! I'll look into rewriting my profile :D
What about the existing pictures i have up? I see a lot of people saying they prefer clean shaven but it's not always clear if that's up top or down below haha! Guess i'm paranoid about the facial hair (though never had any complaints in person!)
Any female points of view out there? |

He's completely right cut the first three paragraphs and a nice torso shot maybe? I'm pretty new to this myself. Points for the face photos on show you're brave. Watch out for pic collectors, another you may pop up happened to me. |

Some people like clean shaven. Some like facial hair.
Some like body hair (on men). Some don't.
We all have out preferences...
If you get loads of knock-backs *because* you have a beard - it is up to you what course of action to take. You may think 'this is part of who I am' - keep it until you find someone who likes beards.

@Shybie: Haha thankyou, it's nice to get some positive feedback
@Mr Clit Eastwood: Please, offer any advice you can give. I've had this profile for a long time but not actually used it until recently. I almost considered creating a new one as i thought the age of the profile plus the lack of verifications might put people off.
@Leah1990: Definitely going to cut those paragraphs then! I have a torso shot in my private pics so maybe i should just make it public. I see no point in hiding my face. I'm genuinely single so have no reason not to show it I'll keep an eye out for identity thieves though!
@Whistler21: To be honest, yeah, i like my beard. I definitely look better with one and always seem to get a lot of positive comments on it haha. It is part of who i am, literally and figuratively. :D |

"Thanks Blondie333, i guess you don't know what people like until you ask them!"
Very true. I'm a big girl and sometimes feel like no one will be interested in me because of that. But recent meets have proved otherwise, lol!

Don't lose the beard to please others!
Just be you - you can't be anyone else and changing yourself or your attitude to please others will alienate as many as it attracts.
The text looks good - as others have said get some torso shots up - the ladies seem to like them.
And you've found the forums - a good place to spend time. It gives people a chance to get to know your personify, attitude and sense of humour.
The age of the profile may not help - but starting again is no quick fix either. Try and get to an organised social or club night just to socialise and network,
Good luck!!

No worries!!
Just keep dropping a mention that you bear a passing resemblance to a young Daniel Day Lewis or Joseph Fiennes! Might work on some of the ladies!
A USP can be a godsend!!
Just ask Shag and his six pack or SexyBrain and his 'awesome penis'!

Haha, Obi Fox! You're the 2nd person to say i have a resemblance to Joseph Fiennes this week. Didn't know who he was so had to Google him. I don't see it personally ;D
Also been told i look like that street magician Dynamo, or whatever his name is... the mind boggles.
Love this forum, why did i wait so long to start chatting in it?! |
