Works for us, if there's no wink back then we know there isn't a mutual interest. Simples. Why would we write a intro message just to have it deleted by people not interested?

I'm not saying you or anyone else is, but I wouldn't get hung up about a process. If you like the look of a profile, maybe message? Some people don't respond to winks, or even look at them.

If you're winked, I'd say you can either wink back or message if you're interested?

That's our logic too. Though quite often, the people messaging put arguably less effort in to their message than they do the wink!

This is how it should work

Then someone throws a spanner in the works and chucks a friends invite in before they should and then it's all gone tits up and the natural flow has been ruined

I tend not to wink, especially as a form of first contact as it seems the ladies and couples on here get more than the average fella and they'd just get lost in the landslide if indeed they'd get looked at at all, that plus the fact it's not like I'm all that busy and important that I can't take five mins to write a message to introduce myself and say hi...I can make a message stand out, I can't do that with a wink.

I have responded to winks though...some of which turned out to be off real tosspots, but some of which have developed into rather more so in short, I don't send them but I will respond to them

If someone winks me (rare I admit); I will message them either to say hi if I am interested in her / them, or a polite thanks but sorry if I am not !

I rarely wink or message anyone first nowadays, generally hasn't worked for me in the past.
