I had an unprotected bj 5 weeks ago, a few days after my cock felt abit sore so i paniced,

so a week later i had a sti test which came back negitive,

While i was waiting for the results i took antibiotics for chlamidiya and gohnerrea just in case,

And the lady i went with got teated and she was clear,

So i thought it must be thrush so i went to the docs and she gave me cream which i used and it improved quite abit over two weeks.....

but now its come back what can it be ?its really geting me down now

Brighton - even Hove!

It's back to the gum clinic.....You could google symptoms I suppose but when I did it for a headache, the google diagnosis was a brain tumour and to seek medical advice immediately.

Can I assume that the unprotected bj 5 weeks ago is the only person to have touched you in that time? You might be both clear but it could be thrush... that will come and go all the time especially if you are under any stress. Go back to GP or gum clinic and ask for a another test....

some things also take more than 5 weeks to show up. (I think its something like 12 weeks).

plus, do not discount other things, like being allergic to something like washing powder / fabric softener / new soap or even shampoo or conditioner if you wash your hair in the shower.

and for gods sake stop panicking and trying to diagnose yourself online, you'll worry yourself silly - and that doesnt help either!!

Don't forget a lot of people are also allergic to the latex or spermicide in condoms which can cause a similar reaction (you can buy them without one or the other) and it could be a normal urinary tract infection. Get back to the doctors and see what they say x

"Would a urinary infection last for weeks ?"

Yes. They will go on for months or until treated. Can be quite nasty if you leave them.

Get back to your clinic and don't use soap on your bits.

"Would a urinary infection last for weeks ?"

Yes. Some go away on their own but some don't. When you're tested for a UTI the results will say which antibiotics it's resistant to so the correct one can be prescribed.

Visit the doc as a urinery infection if left untreated can cause kidney problems.

I had similar and my own GP kept giving me thrush cream. This lasted for 6 weeks every time i visited he never examined me just kept prescribing canesten cream.

Went to another doc who diagnosed i had NSU sent me to GUM clinic.

The Doctor there wss so infuriated i had been mis-diagnosed for so long he wrote to my Doctor to inform him how his bad diagnosis could have effected my kidneys. So dont give up keep going until your better

"Are sti tests accurare at the gum clinic ?"

Yes. Stop worrying and asking for reassurance from medically unqualified strangers and go to your doctor, ask him or her to test your urine there and then and send to the lab. Also if you are still concerned ask for another sti screen.

Go back to the gum clinic or your gp if its not a sexual matter hey are the experts. Why did you take antibiotics just in case? Where did you get them from?

Diabetes can cause persistent thrush, you might want to consider getting tested for that too (if you don't find any other cause).

+1 -

Go directly to your GP or GUM Clinic. Do not pass Go. Do not collect any more OnLine Prescriptions.

So if you bought antibiotics online, did you also get tested by post?

Sounds like you need to start taking this seriously, actually leave the house and get down to your gum clinic before your knob falls off

I thought I had caught something as I had a burning sensation when I peed, so went to the GUM clinic and on first inspection they thought I had clamydia so gave me some heavy duty antibiotics. When I went back they said the tests had come back all clear and I had had NSU they thought caused by being in the middle east and being slightly dehydrated so nothing to do with sexual contact at all.

I very much doubt that you've caught anything from a BJ, although not impossible. You sound a little naive to infections. Wise up and go to your GP if you have any symptons or concerns, instead of sitting at home worrying about it and seeking advice of the internet.

I caught e-coli which was present in my bladder for three months and was resistant to antibiotics. I just waited till my body fought it off. Good luck x
