Jump to: Newest in thread

Hi,

Is it not possible to have a link on every post that directs the user back to the top of the thread. We already have a 'go to newest post' link at the top of each thread but on long thread it means scrolling all the way back to the top of the page then clicking a link to get back to the forum you just came from.

I know there is a link at the bottom of each thread but that only takes you to the main forum listing, not the specific forum you came from, ie, Lounge.

Putting a link on each post to go back to the top of the page is simple and uses a very simple piece of html

the code is (I've left off the angle brackets so you can see the code but I'm sure you can work it out)

a href="#top" back to top /a

the #top link is an anchor on the current page and if it isn't present as a hardcoded anchor, HTML will create it at the very top of the page.

Home button is great for that - my back button takes me back to the forum list which is not always where I want to go often I like to re-read the OP's post - so Home button for me thanks for the advice (duh never thought of that)

After thought, it might be very handy for those viewing the site via a mobile phone.

I'd love this site to be easier to use on mobile phones. It's a bit of a pain at the mo. This would certainly help - almost wear my finger out getting back to the top of a thread sometimes, easier to use the back button then navigate back.

I know the 'Home' and 'End' keys do the job but that involves moving my hand from the mousepad to the keyboard. I'm not just being lazy, I just find it frustrating that for such a simple piece of coding that it cannot, or has not, been done already. It makes for an easier to use website that a lot of other sites have as standard.
