I like to send winks to people to see if there is any interest as I appreciate women and couples probably get sooo many mails I don't want to bother then if they have no interest..

Do people in general pay any attention to winks or do most ignore them??

I look at who's winked, I can understand guys getting fed up with writing loads of messages and not getting replies, if guy looks hot then I wink back an let him message me after that, cant see how winks can be annoying, you either look at who has winked or you don;t, simple.

It's not really about getting fed up as I will work for it lol however find a wink as an ice breaker but don't want to annoy anyone that has no interest in me whatsoever as I'm sure especially single women get fed up of loads of messages from people they have no interest in.

Because we correspond with over 100 emails a day we do not mind winks as it shows people are interested in us.

We look at winks and if we're a match, we wink back. But it's obvious to us if the couple didn't look at our profile as we say what we're looking for and some of them don't tick those boxes.

As an example, we say we only want to play with couples with a bifem, and we get winks from straight fem couples.

It's only annoying if people don't read our profile as we take the time to read theirs before we wink

agree with this and find it annoying as our profile states we do not accept winks therefore if we receive them we assume guys cant be bothered to read so we cant be botherd to respond and delete accordingly

I'm very happy to receive winks - I take them as they're meant to be, a tentative request about interest.

What I do hate are the many people who wink, but then when I respond with a simple welcome message just don't bother to reply! That seems to be quite common and does come across as rude....

They are completely annoying and rude to us because we specifically say we don't like them and if someone sends one then we immediately know they haven't bothered reading our profile.

However wee do know lots of people on here love winks so we guess once again it is all about respecting other people's choices.

I don't pay attention to them. I often look at a profile and then notice at the top they winked me 3 months ago. I hadn't noticed so their wink did no good.

Every so often I look on my phone and see I have over a hundred winks and similar to friend requests. I am a lady who personally doesn't look to see who winked at me until I go to delete them all x

I have no issue with winks and often use them myself... Although it's pretty pointless when the winker has a pictureless profile and the content of it is something like 'looking for women' or even just 'sex'! I'll usually look at profile before reading a message so the only real difference I guess is if pics are attached to a message in my eyes. Winks are just another way of saying hi, which is pretty much all I expect from an initial message as the profile should tell me if I'd be interested

A wink should be used as a lot of single guys have said they do endless messages and get no reply. So it makes sense to send a wink to see if there is a bit of interest and then they can send a nice big message to the person who has winked back

confused I as my profile says will send wink to register my interest then hopefully they wink back and off we go.Always make a point of reading peoples profiles and forums,am i wrong but seems that majority of couples particularly complain about the number of messages they receive and the content so would have thought that a wink allows the reciptent to access the winkers profile 1st and respond def quicker than writing a message.

My thoughts are and as you've said fella ladies and couples can receive lots of mail I'd guess that they'll receive as many winks or maybe more, so my best chance to stand out is an original message I think the few minutes of my time are a good investment.

Never even looked at them so the total still shows on my account page. Who would have thought there would be over 600 people who have a nervous tic? Lol. I don't know about others, but...I use winks as an icebreaker, if I don't get a wink back I take it as a no thanks and don't disturb further...A wink back to me I take as they might be interested from my profile and I'll then message...

The wink is a hi but with no pressure.

To be back to the thread though, I look at winks, and I've used it previously to show a tentative interest.

Though single women / couples / tv profiles probably get a whole lot more so I wouldn't blame them for ignoring them

Like everything else, you treat others as you want to be treated is how we see it.

If someone says they do not like winks, then simply don't wink them. If they like them then by all means do.

Like we always say, read the profile and respect the wishes of those concerned.

Hard to see why they're annoying, as they're so easy to ignore. Like someone else said, they mirror real life - down the pub, when I was a single guy, I'd try to make eye contact before taking things further. Same on this site. And couples wink at each other too.

Wether you like them or not? As by not responding this too would be considered rude. We don't mind winks or messages. I think a mutual wink dictates a lot to the people who initiated it an lets them know there is a mutual interest, no wink back then not interested. But We'd rather that than to sit there an spend time writing a message, then checking to see if it's been read, an then not getting a reply, an feeling like "why did we just bother" if I person(s) wink us back then we see it as a green light to initiate conversation without feeling lIke were wasting our time.

the most annoying thing about the site..... never responded to one and never will. If you are interested in someone, then read thier profile - ascertain if your profile may be what they are looking for ...... and send a message....... simple really

They are not annoying compared to the guys who cut and paste every message. With winks you can look if you want to or ignore easily too so don't see a problem with therm.

I like to send a wink first so as not to annoy/intrude and to show I am interested. A wink back and I send a message. I always respond to winks - just out of courtesy - and I don't get that many!

I don't send and totally ignore ones I get. They don't annoy me though. ..

I do think it's a lazy way of contacting someone, as are how's you? and fancy a fuck?.

The messages I respond to either make me laugh or are different enough to pique my interest.

Then I look at pics, profile and veris and decide whether to respond.
