Safe with condoms will always be safer. If you do genuinely go to GUM yourself id advise you pose the question to them. I've never heard any health professional suggest otherwise.
I'm just observing your method is reactive. How can you ever know you are disease free if you play regular and without protection. Because it takes 3 months of no exposure from the last risk you take to establish a true result - for HIV anyway.

The answer to your question is yes it is slightly safer.
All sex is risky even with a long term partner who never cheats on you.
But some sex carries more risks than others.
I a very few cases bareback could carry fewer risks than safe sex, but only if the partner did not indulge in sex at other times.
In the same way safe sex could be very risky if the condom failed.
It is a matter of being aware of the risks (not only to the active participants but to their partners as well) and choosing how much risk is acceptable to all those involved. |

I know it's each to their own but I find it very worrying the amount of people who will play bareback. A few hours of fun can lead to some very nasty and sometimes life threatening diseases.
It really isn't worth it for me putting myself, my partner and those I meet at risk. Someone who says they are clean could contract something from that one person they have met since their check up. As someone mentioned earlier HIV can take up to 3 months.

Check out the single guys on here with all the veris, they are the genuine ones.
