Newbie advice and thoughts on vanilla alternative

Hi
As swing "virgins" would you say the vanilla alternative club is a good way to ease into the scene?? I (sexybum) can't get this club out my mind since coming across the website! I love fantasising with g about threesomes (mmf and ffm) and couples but I'm quite shy at first meeting people (wine helps!) and not much body confidence. I think a club may be less pressure and as we love to cam maybe it would allow me to watch and touch or b touched if I want?! How do you know wether to take the next step or not?!

It's actually very vanilla! Just several open areas with mattresses and a foul-smelling hot tub room (carpet tiles next to a shower - really??) friday night is a complete waste of time, but we've not tried a couples-only party night, which could be worth a go. However, if you're new to swinging and feeling under-confident, be aware that there is no privacy at VA - a badly fitting curtain is the closest you'll get to a private room, unless you book a hotel room as well, which makes it an expensive visit. |

A dirty weekend in Blackpool and a visit to infusions that's where we popped our swinging cherry. Its classy is as private as you want good social area. And after looking at your photos god only knows why you would have any body issues they were very sexy.if you make it weekend of 12\13 Dec would gladly see you there |

We are in a very similar position to you. We are keen to explore but hesitant about taking the first step.
We went to a club in Blackpool which wasn't really for us.
We really like the look of the vanilla alternative though |

And bicur you are probably as close to blackpool as we are we like it as it cuts down on the chances we will meet someone we know as well and it's great to get away from the kids for a night or two |

We can only go by our experience. They've all been fantastic at the VA. We went there as our first club, have been to quite a few since and always end up back at VA. it's notisted as one of the top clubs in the country for no reason...
If you stay at the club hotel which is admittedly basic you could play in your room if you wanted totally private. But we have found the curtained off areas perfectly adequate and we've never been disturbed when playing in one.
The hot tub is huge. We've always found it clean due to the cleaning system they have there. Though it does get really busy on occasion.
Definitely recommend a Saturday night for a first denture as its couples and single ladies only

We've not ventured any further south than VA, but not found anything in the midlands worth shouting about. We've heard lots of good things about the Radlett parties, so will probably try there next.
If you are going to try a club, we recommend arranging to meet other couples there, so that you have someone to talk to when you arrive. In our experience, most couples are either too shy to chat, don't want to play with others or are already part of a clique.

We certainly wouldn't call the hot tub clean! Filters and UV are no match for chlorine when it comes to tackling all the bodily excretions that end up in the water.... And the smell from the wet carpet tiles caused by the 'wet room' shower was nauseating...
All that said, we do like to give venues a second chance, so will try it again on a Saturday night. We will be avoiding the human soup tank though  |

I have been lucky enough to attend VA numerous times. Have never smelt any bad smells in any areas and probably been well over 20 times. Friday nights you have single guys too do ideal if you want an extra guy. Single fems can go either the Saturday or the Friday.
I have been in the hot tub every visit and never suffered any problems with the water. Lets face it people will play in the tub. I guess for those that do not like it they can do the sensible thing and just not go in it!
Lots of socialising goes in in the tub too so another great place to chat and chill. I do not smoke but I believe its another good area people have a relaxing natter.
The water in Chams (the most well known club in UK IMO) is well known for its fumes. I recall myself getting a bad coughing fit while in there. I did the intelligent thing and got out. I still love Chams.
Quite simply OP its your choice. Check out the reviews on VA and you will see yourself the numerous excellent ones. Wishing you fun in your visit and anyone not liking VA then feel free to stay away as plenty of other clubs in the country. VA will always been one of my favourites xx |

Our first experience was at v.a and we've been back plenty of times since !
Also if you are worried about body image the lighting in the play areas and hot tub are brilliant ! Always makes me forget about my body hang ups xx |

Our first club experience at another club totally put Janey off but she was persuaded to give them another try and had her mind changed totally by the VA...The atmosphere is fabulous and it's spotlessly clean including the hot tub...The chance to spend time in the social areas before dressing down the wet area...lovely big white fluffy towels, gorgeous warm water without the eye watering levels of chlorine you get in other clubs...yes, it does have a lack of private play areas but the respect that people show to boundaries and personal space there kind of makes them unnecessary and the little nooks and crannies means you can withdraw into less well used areas...In the end, it may be great for you, it may not but it isn't the kind of place that will put you off clubs...but encourage you to explore further  |

We went to VA as our first club and loved it. Remember every one is nervous, especially on their first visit, but a little wine helps. No one tried anything without asking us first (hehe)
We now go to liberty elite, as it is closer and we rarely get weekends free to make the journey to Cambridgeshire. Still wouldn't mind another night out at VA though, and we always stayed at their hotel. Room five is the nicest, and that way you don't have the awkward taxi journey at the end of the night! |

After looking at the pictures on the web site I am looking forward to paying a visit next month, And having bedrooms to sleep in just makes it a better option for my first visit to a club  |

VA was my first club experience and absolutely loved it. Pristine, and a very sociable place to go. Hosts are lovely and welcoming. NEVER had a problem with cleanliness. Saturday is a better night to go as there are no single guys allowed, unless thats what you're after. No pressure to play and you can take things at your own pace.

Another advantage to the VA is that as the social areas is very much seperate front he play areas it is far easier to stay in the bar and socialise if you choose not to play on your first visit.
Like a previous poster we have been, must be getting I. For 20 times now, not once have we found the hot tub or play areas to 'smell disgusting' or be unclean in any way. Infact the complete opposite. We'll be taking another couple with us on 22nd November for their first time experience in a club aswell. Just jump in with both feet, on a Saturday if people look like they want to have a fun night out we have found the guest at VA to be a great bunch to socialise with. |

We can add our voices to the "pro" camp. We have always had a great time at VA and are next planning to go back on 1st November for the Saints and Sinners event. Sadly we are slightly outside your age range (but the lighting is quite flattering, so it may not show).
If you are happy with being naked (and with your bodies you certainly shouldn't have any issues) then the hottub early-ish in the evening is a great place to start - get in before it gets too crowded would be our advice. And once there you can be entertained while you consider whether you want to take things to the next level.

Having read the comments above, we may have an unfairly harsh opinion of VA, but we went in a Friday, with only a few couples there and lots of aggressive, uncommunicative men ( some of whom did not understand personal space and tried to get involved without asking). I imagine that with plenty of couples in, the play areas have a very different vibe.
However, we still have to question the wisdom of the wet room shower opening onto carpet tiles. The area smelt of damp dog by the end of the night, and that was on a quiet evening... |

Modern safety tiles have an abrasive coating to prevent slips. We've visited spas in Europe with vast numbers of pools, steam rooms, hot tubs and showers. Water and ceramic tiles everywhere. No slips and no mouldy dog smell!
So what are the good events to go to at VA? We'd like to try again, as it only takes just over an hour to get there!

I have been alone a few times as I haven't myself found the single men pushy at all, it is a big club and I think they limit the single men to around 12 on a Friday anyway.
Everyone has a different experience of course but mine has always been that this is the plushest and most hygienic that I have attended, it does get a great bunch of guests too and I'm comfortable just chilling at the bar if I dont want to play.
I love the big fluffy white towels too and the ambient music and lighting.
Each club that I go to has a different personality but I do think the the Vanilla Alternative is a great first club to attend... And continue attending! |

We've only ever been to VA on a Friday once and also didn't rate it. Saturday's are much better in our opinion |

My wife and I popped our cherry there a couple of weeks ago. We went back the following weekend for a reason.
Totally relaxed and she also has confidence issues.
