This is something that is clearly worrying you a great deal. Why not pop along to your local GUM clinic? They can test you to put your mind at rest, and will also be able to explain the risks involved when playing. You will receive proper information from medical professionals rather than chinese whispers from an internet forum  |

Gonorrhea and Chlamydia in the throat from oral is apparently more common than we would think, but I cannot find any concrete numbers apart from amongst sex workers.
The nurse at my gum clinic was telling me she had a group of swingers test positive, and they all said 'But how can we, we're all long term couples.....'
So there you go - pause for thought.

me either and Im guessing over 95% of the people on here but it doesn't mean it can't happen.. If you do oral unprotected then you have that possibly of catching something.. Like others have already said.. Go get yourself tested!! On the plus.. Im a gg, Im betting you haven't had as many as me and I've managed to avoid catching anything.. I guess the people on here are pretty clean ( please don't attack me.. It was meant as a joke! ) Unless you have symptoms or are aware that someone you have played with has had a positive result.. I think your mind is in overdrive.. If it bothers you that much... Don't do oral without a rubber!!  |

Herpes is a difficult one.... But I do know I'm clear of that too.. so I can happily say the most I've ever had is thrush from taking antibiotics x |

But my point is that they don't test for it unless you have symptoms and lots of people have it without symptoms and it's one if those that you can catch no matter how careful you are. |

Just making people aware as you always hear people saying "I'm 100% clear of everything" when actually they may not have been tested for everything and that is only true that they were clear at the date of the test. x |

Some people are carriers of a STD and dont know they have it.The bacteria in an infected person csn be found at the back of the throat and can be easily passed on....go to a STD clinic and get tested. |

The most common STI's that you can get from oral sex are Gonorrohea, Genital Herpes and Syphilis. Genital Herpes is the most common and the easiest to pass on without knowledge as you can do this even with the start of a cold sore starting on your lip.
If you have been having oral sex with multiple partners and no knowledge of their health status then you have been lucky. Don't get me wrong, I am one of these people that have been doing it for years, but I get tested every 3 months!
Going back to the original point, if you are worried, then go and get checked. It is the sensible AND responsible thing to do if you are still having oral sex with other people.

Mine either. They only test if you have systems. And then will pop a blister and take a sample of the liquid.. I asked how come they didn't do a blood test for it and the lady who looked after me said they aren't as accurate as taking a swab..
I am also clear of all std's and keep the text on my phone until I go again.
People who can't go to a gum clinic really shouldn't be having sex.. It's like sex 101 use condoms and get yourself checked regularly. Even if you are playing it safe condoms aren't 100%
And oral std's are more common than people think. A friend if mind has had chlamydia of the mouth a few times!! If you are worried book in for a peace of mind screening!!! |

These threads drive me insane and just make me question why are you swinging, risking your health and others if you don't take care of yourself and take preventative measures to research what you are getting yourself into and what to look for if you do spot something on your meet or partner (heaven forbid this has never happened to me).
My health is everything to me and high on priority list above all else as I’d never want to be in the position where I had contracted something and frankly I never ever want to be! After every meet I get tested (or every 3 months if I don't meet) and I then make sure my Hep B vaccine is up to date, this isn't just for me, this is for my husband’s sake and the people I play with as well.
Yes you can catch an STI from oral sex, Herpes, Gonorrhoea, Chlamydia being the ones that spring to my mind, contracted from a simple mouth cold sore/ulcers (this is the same if you go down on someone with a sore) and body fluid for the other two.
I really don't mean to come across harsh with this, it’s my priority that I'm clean and I never get anything so I'd expect the same of the people I play with, so be it if I'm a little over the top. But swinging isn't all fun and games, especially when you find yourself with something that's nasty or heaven forbid incurable.
If you are genuinely worried pop along to a GUM clinic where they are super discrete and it will put your mind at ease.
