If your having a small party say (3-7) Cpls then I would suggest you keep the age range within 15 yrs of everyone.
And if your having a large party (8-20) cpls and a few singles thrown in...but vetted of course then let it be open age.
And also try to get a mixture of people as in body size. You will be supprised in what some people go for. It all adds to the spice of atmosphere.
In our experience the parties often flow better if you run them like a normal house party. Let people do their own thing. (socialise in the kitchen/ living room maybe a bit of dancing) But above all let people drift off upstairs for a play in there own time. With whome ever they want to.
Do not enforce strict play sessions at a certain time otherwise it may back fire on you as we have seen in the past at a few other parties.
Not everyone likes to sing off the same hymn sheet as everyone else.
Hope this throws some light on your question.

We had a small party with 3 couples. Found people we liked and gave them details of who we'd invited (checked with them first). They chatted to each other so we all knew who was going and we were all happy. It worked really well and we had a great night. |
