Out of curiosity how far are you willing to travel for a private meet and or a party, if you have never met the couple before or have not met anyone at the party before ?
For us we limit this to no more than 1 hour travel time as we once had a very unpleasant experience at a party which we had travelled a long way to go to, admittedly it was an organised party that you had to pay for in advance lol. |

MAMOBA, miles and miles of bugger all (Aberdeenshire) |
I have travelled from north of aberdeen down to liverpool before - but it was combined with my other passion (football)
At the moment, due to time constraints, I only meet locally, so within an hour or so of me. |

I personally wouldn't travel more than an hour, because of the thought of the hours drive back. I can't travel regularly, nor would I expect anyone to travel more than an hour to me. |

Usually up to around an hour, but there may be some exceptions, where I may be willing to go a little further.
Have been chatting to some great people in the chat rooms and really hit it off with a few of them. |

It depends on how long I had been talking to the person. Also how well he had got on.
I would combine the trip with another activity in case it went pear shaped as well. |

I've done 2 hours to Bournemouth and 3 hours to Newcastle (both on the train). Both sufficiently planned and no regrets on either.
I maybe going up to Yorkshire next month. Maybe. |

I'm the same here but constantly get guys well over the hour who say they've read my profile but seem to miss that bit and quite happy to drive several hours to me when I turn them down for that reason |

I have now got to the stage of meeting up at a local club as I got fed up of being messed around. I thought I'd use my time to relax and if they do a no-show or anything at least my time is not completely wasted. Also s out the wheat from the chaff. |

"Ive travelled over 100 miles for a social...wont put a limit on someone worthwhile! Certainly shows commitment to swinging lol x "
I disagree, it shows commitment to being genuine and not wasting someone's time, not all of us have the time or money to travel miles to a meet |

I've had meets from Ireland and Italy. Both were from another sure and certain to be great matches for me. Is happily travel for a top quality meet, time and circs allowing, but only for well verified people that I've skyped and chatted to at length x |

Having seen you I can understand why they would travel that far. I would too. |

Thanks for all the replies....I think most are in agreement that if you've never actually met before about 1 hour is the norm which makes us feel better xx |

We were told by a lovely swinging couple that we met, never travel just for a meet. Go for some thing else then you never have a wasted journey. thought this was very good advice. |

About 20 meters. From our sofa to our front door.
We only meet people local and generally meet at ours. We wouldn't arrange to meet some one that wasn't local incase there was no spark. |

Usually I'd only travel within an hour on public transport as I don't drive and rarely have free time between working odd shifts and being a single parent with lack of babysitters. However last year I travelled 4hrs on public transport to meet a guy and stayed the night from here. Well worth the 8hr round trip Travelling again next month! |

If it's not an overnight meet then I'd say an hours driving one way.
However I regularly visit the Midlands area, and I have travelled as far as London for meets/clubs/parties.
So for the right person or event and providing I have a place to crash I don't have any issue with travelling. |

What if there was no spark and they are in your house. You can't make your excuses and leave. You would have to kick them out. Much worse. Has that ever happened. |
