A question of length

Some of you may have seen my words of advice to some new users of late on how to improve their profiles, and this is something I have tried to apply to my own, but I am concerned about it's overall length.
I have seen a number of longer profiles, and I always take the time to read them, but I can't help wondering if visitors to my page take one look at the sea of endless words and head straight for the 'back' button.
I've made a concious effort to try and compress it down, but I still feel it may be too long and putting people off.
The dilemma I am faced with is that I want to be as informative as I can be so that fellow fabsters can get a feel for who I am and what I am like.
Feedback would be very much appreciated.
Thanks guys |

we're not your target audience but for what its worth I looked earlier and read the first bit and the last bit, missing the middle. However I found it informative and entertaining.
When all's said and done its your profile and should reflect the real you |

I guess a brief introduction is nice, but I typically don't read lengthy profiles. I'd want to know key things (such as aims, interests in further depth, etc.).
Honestly? Yours is a little long but it reads well. If it works, I'd keep using it. I think it depends more on how strong/intriguing your first messages are. |

"Your post is longer than many guys profiles lol!"
Yes, I know, lol
"I don't read men's profiles but apparently three paragraphs or more means you are mental"
You may be on to something there, pmsl

Informative and entertaining was what I was going for - that's me all over.
Thanks so much for your feedback so far everyone |

Think you may have hit the nail on the head there. I would agree that the most important thing is that it reads well.
Agree with you about first messages too.
Very helpful, thank you. |

"That's a long one!
You don't have to start a new paragraph every line. Its a fine balance between line after line, or large blocks of text, but it can be done."
Good point. I'll look at that again.
Thank you |

"Ok I'm definitely not your target audience but I hope you don't mind my input.
It is quite long but you have tried a different approach and in that respect you have created something unique to you and your sense of humour / personality. Depending on the audience and what they are like they'll either warm to you or not based on your approach - which I guess is the mark of a successful profile (to attract those of a similar ilk).
One minor thing, and as I say I'm not your target audience, but if I was a female or couple looking at it I'd probably have a wry smile at the cock size gag you have included (it's 7ins but I guess I should quote it at 10ins) because it doesn't necessarily look 7ins to me, but maybe the pics are just deceptive? I apologise in advance if I'm wrong.
But overall a good set of pics including clear face pics, showing elements of your personality (cars, music, tattoos etc).
You're already doing well according to the veri's and have some good feedback so I wish you all the best and hope you continue to have lots of success on here!"
Input very much appreciated, Dan.
No apology necessary, though I can confirm (although it might seem rather sad) that I have actually had the tape measure out, lol
Thanks for the positive words.
I've had a few meets that haven't left veri's, but I'm not one to chase them on it. Some people leave them, some don't.
Thanks again for taking the time. It's nice to get a range of perspectives.

I think youre very interesting! You've got a guitar instead of a cock, your hairdresser has a nice car but should you really be sat on it, and your smile suggests you've just trumped but hopefully nobody will notice. Oh, and you forgot to iron your new purple shirt. But me, I like you. Now kiss me! x x |

Thanks. I read my post back and deleted it before you had replied as, upon review, it read back harsher in the cold light of day than it was meant to and I didn't want to offend, so I'm glad you wasn't as that wasn't the intention! |

"awaere here for sex, anything else we will buy a novel...short sweet just like the experience"
Exceedingly aware of this, hence the question.
When I first joined fab, my profile was considerably shorter, but has evolved over time, after having read various comments from numerous users in their statuses and on their profiles.
I was keen to try and inject an element of my personality so that others can get a better idea of whether or not we're likely to click and get on.
I suppose, really, since everyone is different, it is perhaps more a matter of which type of people I am hoping to attract.
Very grateful for your input, thank you.
"Apparently ours is long, but have had people rolling up laughing.
Well if you can take a laugh "
Oh yes, absolutely. I love a good giggle |
