So Vera has just been informed that someone has posted her on a revenge on your ex page, yet it isn't her ex they've got her name wrong, where she lives etc also it just isn't her ex!!! The photos were taken from fab, so will the police help at all? She's asked the site to remove the photos but not heard back from them, all help appreciated |

Problem is I assume anyone could have looked (and downloaded) the photo's off fab and posted them onto another website - And because they were public in that way its unlikely to be illegal.
Put the pics you don't want the public seeing as friends only.
Sorry - I would love to be proved wrong though, and I'm no lawyer. |

This is probably covered by Data Protection and Human Rights legislation.
Without knowing what content has been posted it's difficult to know whether or not it may also be Libelous. Deformation of Character etc.
The Police may actually be able to help, as it may fall under Domestic abuse laws. I would suspect that they would certainly be able to point you in the right direction if this is not the case.
One thing I will say - collect evidence.
Print off any and all content that identifies your partner, because, should it go to court, evidence will be required and the site may well have taken it down by then.
To be honest though, I am actually extremely surprised that such a site exists - for the reasons I have stated above, purely because the responsibility for the publication of such material falls to the site itself.
Hope this helps. |

Hi and thanks, we think it's a guy sHe was talking to about a year ago as he's put rough details that he knew, like her job, and made up a complete cock n bull story up! They did message on kik but once he'd stood her up twice (off another site, famous for fish), he got nasty saying he was going to burn her house down and say she had AIDS on Facebook, would be hard as he don't know her name!! She ignored him as a crank but now someone she knows has alerted her to the fact her photos are on this site |

OP a piece of advice - if you need proper legal advice get it from those qualified to give it - the Citizen's Advice Bureau or a solicitor. Its free from the former and you can usually get 30 mins to an hour free from the latter. Its also confidential and legally protected.
Anyone on here who is legally qualified is unlikely to admit it - because they could be charged by the SRA/BC of embarrassing the profession and taken off the role. So you do not know how good it is from anyone off here.
So do not be embarrassed to seek qualified help.
All the best in getting it resolved. |

Yes legal advice would be best bet but the simple rule is they are in the public domain and all these legal warnings aren't worth the server space they take up. |
