I've been conversing with someone who approached me after they read my profile.
Things were going ok so I offered to meet for a drink when they felt ready.
They then told me they only meet verified members...
Obviously I'm new, so have no verification as yet other than my photo one.
Have I just been strung along? |

Go in the chat room hun and get verified by cam. Other people will see you and you might get a better chance of an actual meet. |

No, you were chatting, they didn't agree to meet you, That's not stringing you along it's having rules on who they meet & sticking to them.
If they had agreed to meet & not shown up or lead you to believe they would meet you, that's stringing you along. |

nope.... were you doing something you wouldn't have been doing anyway (being on the site).....
see... people are very quick to chuck out the "timewaster" tag.... maybe they just simply changed there mind,
or thought you were being too pushy..
or forward....
or maybe you said something that put them off....
or maybe it is one of a million other things and they just used that as an excuse......

I don't count cam veris - they don't actually prove you aren't going to bottle it when it comes to meeting.
Sat in your room pulling your plonker is a lot different from meeting.
Strung along? Depends on the content of the messages, I chat with a few people I will never meet... |

No I wouldn't say so.
First off, you obviously got that first contact right for them to reply - that's more than a lot of us get after trying to match the requirements of an ad so in that respect well done.
And I know it's frustrating when you KNOW you're genuine but unable to prove it until someone takes the time to meet you and verify you, but in this case at least they were honest and net you know where they stand.
So I'd say keep on doing what you're doing, be respectful and in time you will be rewarded.
Look at other posts on here that show his long it can take (even with couples and females) for that elusive first meet.
2 weeks is nothing, stick with it and good things come to those that wait! |

Ok I didn't know about the chat cam thing, nice one.
Secondly, they approached me, we entered discussion, they mentioned getting together and I responded with " let me know when and I'll make arrangements'
Then..the no verification thing.
I just found it odd.
And yeah, I might be on this site, but my profile explains why and also expresses respect to those who don't like it. Being judgemental is your right, but not my concern. |

I suppose it depends.....if they offered to chat with no intention of arranging a meet then no.
If they chatting with a view to meeting then decided no because you had no veri then surely they could have seen that before chatting.
If however you thought because they were chatting it would automatically lead to a meet, then you might be better making it clear at the outset that that is what you are after, as some people chat with lots of people without meeting them. |

When you are chatting with a couple it might be that you are initially exchanging messages with one of them. When the other half catches up they might have a discussion which includes the no verification issue and agree between them to feed it back to you.
We try-but don't always succeed, to say which of us is messaging at the time.

If they weren't stringing you along they must have a lot of free time to chat to people they have no intentions of meeting. Either that or something on your profile interested them enough to want to talk about it maybe |
