Just wondering do people really take on board a person's profile write up.
Or is it about the person themselves.
Plus how many lines would you think you should write.
Is 10 enough or 30 to much.
Do you say about your self or what you like from the site.
Every one who will read this will have there own voice.
So how do you know what is right and what is wrong.
Because some like you being forwarded some like to make friends with you first.
Who knows but manners cost nothing xx |

you listen to a million different people, you will get a million different answers.....
they are only looking at something from their prospective...
the moment you listen to someone else and change yours accordingly is the moment your profile isn't you anymore... it then a generic mish mash of what you think people want to hear
I think the biggest mistake the "give me profile advice" people make is that they think they are trying to appeal to everyone....

There is no 'perfect' profile. I personally like ones that give a flavour of the person (the ones where you read them and feel you already know who they are and what makes them tick a little) but I know that this is purely my personal preference. I don't mind if a profile is succinct (within reason - 'fill this is later' when you've been on the site more than a few weeks is a big red flag to me) or long-winded. I'd love to get across my own in fewer words but tend to go with stream of consciousness since it's more likely to sound like me.
So in conclusion it's about the person themselves but some profiles do an excellent job of reflecting that person and they are what I consider perfect profiles. |

It's my profile, I'll write what I want....if people don't like it tough. Some might say I haven't written enough or it's this or it's that.... I'm happy with it so who cares.
Most don't read them anyway..... |

When we first joined we looked at other profiles just to get an idea of what to say. We've rewritten or re worked it a couple of times now.
Just think what YOU want to say about yourself, don't forget it's your selling point. And some people do actually read profiles and find it helps to make choices. |

i put whats most important to me such as what personality type i like, mention my size and weight and what i like and dont like doing because it annoys me when people ask me what i like. i think they can get a good idea from my pics and verifications. |

Profile text is about trying to put a little of yourself in a few lines. Some profiles on here are to long and some are to short.
Need to keep it punchy and interesting and to the point.
Profile is just an introduction and not a life story.

Sadly, most don't read profiles. We don't understand why as that is one of the two main things to 'judge' before meeting so why not use it?
We just block those that clearly have not read our profile. |
