We were thinking of having a party and we're wondering what people expect from these and if there were any general advice you lovely people could give. It would be at our house and so we wouldn't want too many people.

Suggestions:

Invite people YOU want there, make sure they are "meet in person verified"

Do you have a spare room that isn't being used or somewhere you could have a blow up bed or something?

Maybe do a raffle and use the money towards paying for the food, drinks, cleaning etc

Hope this has helped!

^^ make sure the neighbours are out, if not then invite them over

No but seriously make sure those who you invite value discretion and a single hint of them being pushy or clingy could lead to a neighbourhood stalker ;o

if you have a room where ppl can play fair enough, if not just do a social party and ppl sort out their arrangements for another time. Ask them to bring a bottle etc., I have a few social parties cos my spare bedrooms are taken up and it works good. Good luck anyways xxx

Thank you all, we have decided that 2 rooms upstairs are for playing and downstairs is for socialising and party games.

London

We've had lots of parties and I try and find out as much as possible about the guests before they arrive so that I can figure out if they will all get on. I ask them to bring drink and sometimes some nibbles etc.

It's fun to have a secret theme and ask all the women to (for example) bring white underwear and at some point all the girls go upstairs and dress up and surprise the other guests by looking fantastic and coordinated.

Be prepared that you'll get a lot of last minute drop outs or no shows - people are can be very unreliable, much more than if they are invited at vanilla parties.

I've printed a little rule book with 8 of the rules that I want guests to observe which I find helps. It sets out how I want people to behave regarding noise, taking pictures, glass in the hot tub, not being pushy etc. Have fun!

If you've been to parties, just think about what you enjoyed the most about them and what turned you of the most...we had our first recently and were very careful about who we invited iinitially because we wanted a good mix...one thing that did come up as a bit of an issue was us playing as hosts...we generally only play together but that meant both of us being absent downstairs to take care of our non playing guests which meant we felt awful when people left as we didn't get to say goodbye or be sure they'd had a good time...bit of a dilemma for next time...

I recently hosted a party with a friend of mine.

Asked everyone to bring a bottle, even if just soft drinks and of course condoms and other such items.

We provided some nibbles and put some music on and just enjoyed the company and went with the flow.

However, once the drinks were flowing we all participated in a very random game of strip poker...it definitely got the adrenaline going and the fun started almost immediately

Just treat it like a normal party whilst providing some extras.

Just be sure to invite ppl you've either met before or known for a while. The last thing you want is for ppl dropping out at the last minute.

We have had two parties first was fun so we we went for a second but I spent most of my time being a good host and missed out on most of the fun.

It was a great night and everone had a great time but it took weeks of planning and messaging and I was so keen to make it good for everyone else I had little play time and it went realy quick

Were Learning all the time all I'd say is if your having a party make sure it's simple and you get to have lots of fun. Think we tried to hard to be perfect hosts yet all people wanted was to drink be naughty and have a laff
