Hi is anyone a pc expert?
Problem is laptop fires up & when I put the password in it rejects it. When I try to reset says need USB or flash drive?
Any help advice please? |

Hi there, the number lock key may be enabled, so check to see if that's the case. If not, you might want to ensure that what you're typing in is actually what's being entered into the computer. The easiest way to do this is to switch user account and type the password into the username field.
Failing that, there is another option you could try, but you'll need access to another computer with a disk writer for it to work. Do a Google search for "offline password reset" and download the Password Reset CD/USB Bootdisk. Burn the .iso file to a blank disk and boot your problematic computer from it, follow the onscreen prompts and you should be good to go.
It's best if you can keep the website and instructions open on another computer just in case you get stuck.

"What operating system is it trying to run? By password is it right to assume that you mean the one to get in to a desktop not to start machine up.
