How to address women

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

Open question really, how do women like to be addressed on here Seriously, (pre-empting all the bitch, slut, whore gags)when they don't have a name on their profile. I know some don't like being called babe, I'm uncomfortable with hun (bit too like the German military for me), I have had an icy response to babe, for me it implies a gorgeous woman, not a Disney pig! Loves a bit old fashioned just. wondered what the preferred etiquette was? answers on a postcard (or you can just reply - saves the environment). Consider me curious

You don't necessarily need to use a name:

"Hi there, how are you" is a perfectly acceptable opening sentence.

I address a woman by licking her backside, scribbling on her front and applying a stamp to her head. I just cant seem to fit them in the postbox.

I think most people will agree it's an acceptable OPENING sentence. If it's the only sentence it then becomes unacceptable.

Even though I have my name on my profile it very rarely gets used, probably because lots of people don't use their real names anyway

Most people will call me something referring to the username which is fine by me,unless someone is told that certain terms of address are unacceptable they won't know so I think its unfair to get huffy about it,I hate the term dear but don't go bonkers about it if its used

Not by me!

Mind you, after I've said "I'm fine thanks" I do expect something with a little more thought.

Messages like "Hi hun wanna fuck" are the ones that annoy me. Along with the long descriptions of what they intend to do with me before they've even said hello or swapped pics.

I love those messages. When I have the time I tell them - in great lengthy detail.

For me I'm not bothered if i'm called babe, hun, sexy etc.

What makes the difference for me is the content of the message.

If a first message is sleazy or particularly graphic then I'm not interested, I'd like to think that a guy is interested in getting to know me a little and is happy to engage in some friendly conversation.

Its a complimentary address I think, I know some people feel its disingenuous, but it is what I naturally write.

I don't like Hun or babe or indeed anything overly familiar in an introductory message. My profile name will do nicely until I'm ready to divulge my real name. But by then you will have learned to call me your highness !

Almost every message I have ever received with babe, huni, sweet (insert any other cringeworthy name) has been from someone with a poor profile and very little other content in the message, let alone one worth reading.

Don't get me started on 'bbe'.

Jools hates being called babe, hun, sweetie, darling etc.....

Jools is just fine .

Don't like guys being to familiar, once we chatted and got to know people.

But there are deffo regional terms of endearment that people in other parts of county don't understand.

Ex.

Pet( as in alreet pet)

Chick or chicken( as in how do chick)

Babes or treacle( Alwight treacle)

Etc...

Feel free to add or amended.

I really don't give a rats arse, you can even call me a rats arse.

One guy calls me Karl Pilkington.

Another makes extensive use of sweetie.

Around these ere parts im often a bab.

If something isn't said with malicious intent I really do not care, address me how you wish and feel comfortable.

Trying not to cause offence to anyone must be like negotiating a particularly tricky assault course, on stilts......and trying not to break all the eggshells.

I'm off for a valium and a long lie down.

I don't mind any term that's intended to convey a pleasant attitude. Babe, Hun, sweetie, goddess etc, that's better than a rude, cute message. I don't admire a coarse opening gambit one bit.

Undressing a lady is like slowly unwrapping a Christmas present...wonderful... And in the time that you're slowly undressing each other, wondering how the hell to get your socks off without breaking the moment by hopping around on one leg and falling over ...yup it happened to me a long time ago...luckily we both creased up laughing and it helped the evening along strangely...
