I don't know exactly how I overcame it, I used to gag on my toothbrush!

Try with toothbrush/banna to start going further back into throat when u feel gag reflex, retract then put back in to just in front and hold for 30secs,try to go a little further each time. This overtime will teach u to relax gag reflex and u will be at back of throat in no time.
