Right then. This is just my view and opinions and others are very available. This is whatever you want to make it.
First of all, how far do you wish to take it?
Dressing for meets, not leaving the house, just popping out for a drive when dressed? Going dogging? Friendly pubs and night outs at TG venues, or passing on the Tesco run?
All require a deeper level of ability.
Dress - dress for your age and location, unless you have a particular fetish. That way you will fit in a bit better and also feel more comfortable. Wearing full on pvc may be suitable for dogging or in the house, but not the pub.
Wigs - you can get a decent one for about £30, but be wary of ones from the Far East, the quality isn't great in my experience.
Shoes - heels - practice in the house, but be aware a hard surface is very different to carpets. Get used to being in shoes for long hours. I was out with a girly last Saturday and her feet were crippled after 3 hours. Make sure shoes match handbag.
Make up - kryolan paint stick will help hide beard shadow, but go over this with a good liquid foundation. Go to a big Boots and get colour matched, the girls there are great and sorted mine out. There are LOTS of tutorials on youtube for make up, but the key is practice.
Anything specific you want to know?

When you take pictures don't use a flash and get lighting behind you don't stand under a light .
Put camera on a surface that is at head height not the floor or coffee table

Also, look at women closely. Examine their mannerisms, how they walk, how they stand, what they do with their hands when they talk, how they hold a cigarette, sip a drink. There are a lot of subtleties involved. It can be hard not to draw attention to yourself, but everything can help. Obviously if you go for porn star sized boobs you're going to get more than one look, regardless. |

It is a heavy duty foundation. There are two ways of dealing with beard shadow. One is to put on Ben Nye studio beard cover. I've got a jar of this, but only used it the once. This is a reddy coloured foundation that renders beard shadow invisible when the black/blue overlaid by the red monkeys around with the colour spectrum and neutralises it.
The other way is Kryolan paint stick. This is a heavy duty foundation (for ex-servicemen, think camo cream for the same sort of consistency) that you put over the area. You need to wear another foundation on top, as it is really stage make up and you'd look like the joker, otherwise. |

Def what was said about TVchix.
And about being careful with your shoes. Certainly take a more conservative pair if you have to go in your mega-high heels!
Dressing to go to a club is obviously a lot more forgiving than going out in public. Not least because they are usually dimly lit which gives you a bit of leeway on getting your make up 100%!
From the places I've been there's a big variety from people varying from dressing for full passing to the more kinky/fetish people. But I've found everyone really accepting of who you want to be.
If you see someone with a look you like or who has got an "element" you think really works then don't be worried to ask |

Some good advice on here. I'd echo joining chix for the forums and chat. If you are very serious then Roses and UkAngels also.
If you are venturing out into the wide world then the most important thing is, as Tina said, to dress appropriately for your age and location. Going shopping oughtn't to be a sexual fetish.
Except perhaps when it comes to shoes.
Other than that, choosing the right wig and foundation are the most important things and good boobs and a good corset help a lot.
M.A.C. is worth its weight in gold if you go for a makeover at one of their counters/shops. |
