I only give my number to someone I am going to meet, but if a third party has given your number out, I would be having serious words with them!

Surely they would have advised keeping the number. So they can catch the stalker in the act and then advise you to change your number?

Some friend If you have a smart phone get a call and sms blocker. Ive got one and my stalkers texts go straight in there out of sight. I know that changing your number will be a hassle but think about it if you cant get a blocker. Good luck

Yep, but that spam list can get quite long with the unwanted texts as a result of visiting certain sites

If this individual is harrassing you - that is doing two or more acts that cause you harassment alarm or distress and its obvious to a reasonable person these acts are unwanted and likely to cause distress - then the individual is committing an offence of sec 2 Harassment under the Protection of Harassment act. Therefore the police can deal with him for that straightaway if acts are serious enough or they can issue a first instance harassment warning telling him to desist.

The police therefore can do something and you should not go through the hassle of changing your number !

Alternatively you could issue the above warning yourself to the indicidual by text ( and keep all texts on phone ) - stating his behaviour is causing you harassment alarm and distress. He must desist this behaviour immediately. If he doesnt - you will report him to the police under the above act ( and then do so and dont take no for an answer ! ) x

Hope this helps x

Send a couple of guys/friends to have a word with him. I do mean have a word with him not beat him up. Tell him it stops now.

No need to bin the phone. Get a pay as you go phone. When something like this happens just get a new sim with new phone number.

I have had the same problem in the past.....every time they ring you call your service provider to log the call as a nuisance call....once you have five of these you can report to the police. They will 'have a word' with the person in question. Worked for me....
