I think you are meaning the 'select country box' in the top corner of the page and not the forums?
Am presuming the settings for people in those countries might be different to UK members. So if you are a user from the USA, for instance, you would leave it set for that country when you log in.
But could, as you say, do nothing now!  |

Just checked, changed the uk at the top to New Zealand and went into browse, it removes all of the postcode seaches and gives choices for areas in New Zealand.
hehe,  how clever am I...
Sure it probably affects other parts of the site too.
