Randomly receive a message out of the blue from what looks to be an attractive young couple. Surprised but not the first time it has happened.
Been members over a year and two verification's from two single guys. One has hidden his profile one is open to see.
They want to speak on yahoo. So we exchange details and I ask why they had looked me up given the distance between us. Female says she used to live in Wem which is close by.
Still not really convinced I google search the images and get a twitter feed. Girls photos appear but she is 19 not 21, location is same and her name is Emily and not Emma. Eventually catch her out. She admits it is not her but she is jealous of how she looks.
Another photo pops up of what seems to me to be an equally attractive girl.
I'm annoyed for being taken for a mug for ten minutes but even more concerned about the profile (which I will now report along with those who have verified it). However if you are going to pick photos to steal (twice) wouldn't you pick an average looking rather than a stunner? |

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum |

What bothers me is i) I trust the verification system and ii) I suspect it isn't a girl!
How many people were conned?"
Well if 'she' wasn't a girl, then I suspect most people would have worked that out on the first meet.
I must admit I've never seen a fake profile tracked down because the messagee thinks the messager is far too good looking for them, but if it works then excellent! |

didnt even wait to get a message from one profile.
photo had some random .com watermark in the top corner.
i appreciate that admin/mods have a busy job, and do it free, and mostly thanklessly, but these are very easy things to see, without any detective work at all. |

I was messaged by a couple not long after I first joined. The girls name was emma on the profile. After chatting for a bit she/they told me her real name was Emily. They sent me pics after more chatting. I used tineye to look up the pics and found one photoshopped and three others were of a different girl from a porn blog (the pics they sent me had the face blanked out). The other pics they sent me might have been genuine because I couldn't find them on the Internet. I reported them, but they also blocked me after I confronted them on the pics. I don't know if it's the same couple because I can't view their profile |

Oh I also forgot to mention that they was also verified by others. That's what threw me off. I'm convinced they are fake yet they are verified by others |
