I have just come across a second profile which has copied text from my profile. I'm talking about an entire paragraph here, word for word! Can people not write their own? |

I know someone who had his profile copied. Lots of mine has been too. Hence the profile update in which I say that he may have my profile but neither the wit nor intelligence to follow through on it. |

It's annoying I know - I've been a victim of profile plagiarism myself in the past. But it shows up those who don't have the brains, initiative or creativity to write their own profile. |

Imitation is the highest form of flattery,
The worse thing , is you have to update your profile, so maybe its a good thing, keeps you fresh.
nothing worse than reading the same profile for weeks on end... |

Change mine regularly, never really the essence, but usually the way its worded. Every few weeks.
Happened on another site I'm on and pee'd me off and flattered me all at the same time.

I quite agree..Sections of mine were recently lifted into another profile but that then drove me to update mine so no bad thing in the end |

"I had my entire profile copied. He did the decent thing though and deleted it. "
I told one guy there was not enough in his profile, and he immediately went away and copied large lumps of a profile that I had read twice before elsewhere. He couldn't understand why I had no interest at all after that.... |

i had paragraphs pinched in the past...... I suppose in a way it is flattery, but if they can't spend a few minutes coming up with their own, then it makes you wonder....
i suppose they think it is minimum effort for maximum results, but what they find out eventually is that there is a personality behind the profiles, and thats the one thing they cant copy.... |

I had a female compliment me on my profile and asked if she could use 'some' of it, I later found out she had copied 95% of it and I was not happy.
She did amend it when I called her out on it! And yes, I did state it was my personality she had copied and I was sure she wasn't anything like me!

Around and about |
So, the other day, a friend alerted me that a guy had stolen my profile text word for word.
I couldn't message him because he'd blocked single guys, so I put a status up jokingly referring to him and the situation.
Then another one of my friends messaged him about it - at first he denied it and then he blocked her. Then I realised he blocked me.
Through another friend I then found out he'd changed his name but kept my profile text.
And to add insult, he'd then copied my status in which I referred to his stealing of my profile text and accused me of plagiarizing him!!
I've reported him but I assume nothing's likely to happen. I know I shouldn't be that bothered but it's really wound me up.
In case you're wondering, he's now calling himself BigThick28. |

"A few years ago we found another profile that had other than their names, copied our entire profile text
And I guess nothing happened as a result?"
All that will happen is the admin will block each of you from viewing each other’s profile |

Tbh I just rewrote our profile again, in hindsight we probably should have reported it, but we didn't. |

I did report it but I've heard nothing will happen. And now I've heard his accusing me of stealing his pics now too. Wtf?
