We are a couple and we are wondering what the etiquette is regarding paying for hotels. If we meet a single guy, does he pay or do we go 50/50 or split it three ways?
Don't want to appear tight! |

My take on this is different, it depends on who is using the room after the meet if anyone.
If I travel any distance, I will book a hotel and pay for it, on the grounds that after a lady or a couple leave then I will be staying over anyway.
If they want to contribute then thats fine.
If they are travelling to me and staying over i would expect them to book the hotel and pay and I would contribute.
If it was purely for play and no one was staying over then I can see the point of 50/50.
I would never book a hotel in my name and leave anyone to stay over in the room without me (Not that i dont trust people- but anything could happen and leave me with a mega bill).
In general sharing of cost to some degree is good.
the best hotel meet I ever had was one where we both had rooms of our own and played in mine and then in theirs and we all stayed over and played again at breakfast time too...

2 separate parties, 50/50.
To split according to the number of people would appear tight IMHO.
However, each to their own.
I prefer to pay for the hotel room myself, as I do not wish to feel I "owe" the gent a good time.

"If either party is staying then I think they should pay in full. Other than that 50-50."
I see that comment all the time and I never get it, if I book a hotel for a meet, and i've only booked it for that meet and the guy isn't staying over why should I pay it all just because he wants to shag and go? |

(Except close friends) I would never go to a man's hotel room for sex - too risky.
And likewise, I would never expect a man to share hotel costs with me. It's MY room, I'm gonna stay the night, and I want the right to ask him to leave.
So I always pay. I like to be in control. |

i agree with the notion that it should be split equally unless one party is staying the night, in which case a contribution should be offered.
however, i'm unconvinced about a 50/50 split. if you're meeting for an mfm, the guy wants to share his lady, the lady wants to be shared, and the other guy wants to share her too - everyone is sharing so why should one party pay more than the other two ? the couple is getting twice the pleasure (because there's two of them) so they (in combination) should pay twice as much.
i'd never be bothered if asked for 50% though - i just happen to think it's fairer. |

I've stayed in a hotel once with a single guy, he paid for the room and I paid for the meal and drinks. I've also met a couple a few times and they paid for the room @ their insistence x |

There was a massive thread about this in the lounge forum last week. Lots of different viewpoints. We'd split a hotel 3 ways if meeting someone for a threesome although with the low price of some hotels paying a half or a third is neither here nor there. |

I met a couple and another guy in a hotel last month. The couple paid and refused anything from us blokes. I am meeting another couple next month and have offered to share the cost of the hotel and their petrol, as the hotel is near me. I would expect to pay half.
More importantly, who pays for and brings the condoms? |

If im offering to meet and want someone to join me. Then i will pay. If someone has booked a hotel and looking for a meet..i dont think we are expected to pay.
However, if its someone i have gotten to know and we arrange to meet in a hotel. Then 50\50 is okay.
...im yet to have a meet. So, not sure how it all works in reality

We used to book hotels in the past both where we were paying in full ourselves and where we had prearranged to share room costs with guys that were coming to join the fun, we didnt stay in the room over night as we always had to get home for our kids, five times we were left in the room ourselves when guys didnt show or get in touch to say they couldnt make it so we payed for the room and couldnt get a meet at the last minute to use the room so now we only ever meet in a hotel if a guy is staying there anyway and he is paying for the room due to thats where he is staying, these days wasting 50 or 60 quid on a room to sit waiting then go home without fun is just too much to waste, just our personal opinion so please dont attack our reply, im sure other people have their own personal opinions |

I still don't get why if only one party is staying over they should pay, if the hotel has been booked for that meet and wouldn't be booked otherwise why should it still be split? |
