What's the point?

I know this has probably been brought up a million times before but:

WHAT'S THE POINT IN HAVING A PROFILE THAT DOESN'T TELL US ANYTHING ABOUT YOU?!

We get winks and messages from loads of people and at least half of them say something bland like 'couple looking for fun'. Well no shit Sherlock; isn't that every couple on here? You're hardly going to write 'couple looking for the worse night of their life'.

We, and I'm sure we're not the only ones, will bypass a profile if there isn't anything in there. We are much more interested in couples that break the clichés and tell us something interesting or are witty. People who stick to the usual boring spiel will sadly be overlooked. Which could be a huge shame because you could be the nicest, sexiest people out there. But unless you let some of that out in your profile how are we going to know?

A lot of people on here are strapped for time and don't want to take risks on blindly meeting someone.

But those sort of profiles are telling you something about the people behind them. I interpret one line profiles as being about people who want everyone else to do the running so we stay well away.

Of course if someone with a one line profile messages us with a lot of information about themselves that's different.

everytime i read this kind of thing i always have to go and read over ours - i think we say what we want pretty much and doing ok so far off it

saying that we have chatted to some that seem to have a reasonable profile and when you start to chat they want something quite different - now that i dont get at all

just bypass the profiles that don't tell you enough - easy - you can't dictate what others put on their profiles. Z

I find too much info almost as bad as too little; I just want a brief idea of who someone is and what they are looking for; after all I'm not looking for a life partner.
