Hi all I'm a single male been on here for over a year and get very little response to my messages that I'm sending, I am polite and always asking if the lady/couple would like to get to each other but 99% of the time no reply & the other 1% reply and say they are not intersted.
I need some help cos I think I might have the record for Being on the site Longest to not have had a meet! |

Sounds like a social may be your way forward to get known and kind of accepted. Easier shining in person than in the tinterweb rat race, good luck. Your profile looks fine and a couple of decent pics. |

"Thanks for the advice, I'm just a bit shy to go to one of these things on my own because I'm not sure what to expect."
Socials are essentially a bunch of people meeting in a room at a pub/club, some of whom know each other, some of whom don't - it can be a bit intimidating to turn up as a solo bloke, but I imagine it'd be even worse as a single female!
I've been to a few (Cardiff) and been lucky enough to arrange beforehand to meet up with ladies or couples I already knew, so as not to have that awful moment when you walk in, the piano stops playing, and tumble blows across the silent room .. I know it doesn't really happen, but in our heads it does and it's scary!
Once you're in, you're just a person at a bar, so if you're comfortable chatting in a social environment normally, you should be fine at a Fab social. Try to be relaxed about it, and remember all the sexy people around you are only human - they all had their first social once too!
Good luck |

Question then: how do you get to know about the socials?
Is it advertised in anyway or do we come back to the initial problem : you have to meet some people first? |

Socials are usually advertised on the UK or Meets forums. The Manchester one is pretty regular. |

use the Meets & Events link on the header bar to find out what's going on in your area, socials are listed amongst all the other events!!

"mmmh, it's a bit closer than I thought....
You seem to know about it: is it good for single guys or are they judged a bit weirdly?"
I've never been to Manchester social although I know people who have. I have been to Leeds and York socials and I can tell you if no single men were there, neither would I be. |
