Hi all I know it’s probably been asked a million times but I’m struggling to get a meet off fab website. Anyone tell me where I’m going wrong? Or what a good opening line is when trying to chat? There are so many single guys on here who have no picture but lots of veris where am I going wrong? |

There is no one good opening line. It should depend on the people/person you’re messaging.
You might want to consider if your profile gives people the best chance of understanding what you’re looking for, what you’re interested in and what you offer. |

I’m not a copy and paste kind of guy I do read the profile and then try to see if our tastes match before I message and the message I compose fits in around what they’re looking for. |

Then that’s the best thing you can do. Patience and time, not that that sounds helpful, are the best bet. |

In that case, it's probably not the initial message that's putting people off, but more likely either your profile, something you're saying in the follow up messaging, or they simply don't fancy you - most people don't fancy most people.

OP given you've been here a decade now, how often have you updated your profile text and photos?
Most of the time issues aren't about message content. Most people will view the senders profile before even reading the message and if there's nothing they see that sparks interest or attraction they'll likely not even bother reading it.
Putting all your time and energy into focusing on the perfect opening message is pointless if you've not put as much, or more, into how you will be seen by others.
And asking how others achieve success is also futile. You're not them. What they do may work for them, but will have zero impact on your engagement with others. |

Fair point I’ve been here a while on and off due to relationships. All points taken as constructive criticism thank you |

You also have to factor in luck and timing. We're probably a fairly average couple and we would like to meet once per week if we were able. That's, say, fifty guys each year. Assuming a number of them are more regular, we probably need no more than thirty "new" guys each year.
We get at least twenty messages/offers per day....say 7,000 over the course of a year. And we only need 30 of them. That's fewer than 0.5%. So it's VERY easy to land in the inbox at the wrong time and it's VERY easy to get filtered out for the smallest of reasons unfortunately.
Just keep going, is all we can say.
