Is it OK to cut and paste another bio?

As per the title really....

I got a message from a supposed couples profile (no verifications or photos). Clicked on the profile, and scrolled down to have a read of their bio. It is really good.... then the penny dropped it was my bio they'd cut and paste and were passing off as their own!

Is that acceptable? Would you be peed off or flattered? I am not too happy, but then there's part of me wondering if I'm being a bit precious and divaish...

How would you feel?

It’s a lazy guy behind the profile.

It depends, though overall it's really not acceptable. It's totally unacceptable if they are trying to pass themselves off as others, which it generally is.

I'd report to Admin, who always investigate every report.

At best, it's lazy

It’s happened to me a couple of times with other trans girls, my bio is exceptionally personal and tells my story and people try and pass it off as their own.

At the end of the day, I take it as a compliment though, I must be more interesting than they are

I always imagine what it’s like for them when they actually meet someone though, and when the words out of their mouth don’t match the words on their bio

We’ve had that a few times. Plagiarism is, they say, a kind of compliment, but people need to be authentic to be here.

I can understand people getting inspiration from how a profile reads but it’s not not the done thing to copy word for word.

We'd just block them. There's plenty of lame people in this world and there's no need to waste a second longer on them than you need to.
