I am unsettled by profiles verified by other users but without photo verification

Hello everyone,
I'm a newby to the scene and would just like some clarity on this.
You see when I notice profiles without photo verification, I immediately feel unconvinced that they are legit: even if they have user verifications.
This is for 2 reasons
1. Photo Verification is simpler to accomplish, so it doesn't add up that they could get user verifications yet had not been able to get photo verified. They can of course choose never to do it, but it baffles me as to why not just get both done!?
2. I'm under the impression that user verifications can be manipulated, meaning I can't feel safe to assume that a or multiple user verifications negates the value of photo verification.
So ultimately I'd just like some clarity from you more experienced users. Is this unsettled feeling I have unnecessary.
Is a user verified profile without photo verification no cause for concern?
Thanks for your time! |

I want to add that,
I do not believe that photo verification + user verification means that I can let all my guards down.
But it sure is like a bare minimum for me to feel comfortable sharing a face picture, especially if they don't have any public photos.
(A lot of women/couples ask for face picture with your intro message so Its unavoidable unless I want to be immediately ruled out by a lot of people) |

"I think you're overthinking it. I took ages to get photo verified (and had "meeting in person" veris first), simply because it wasn't important to me so I didn't bother. "
Same with me. I've still not bothered with the photo verification, as I don't see the point. And I've got over 30 meet verifications |

And I'm another.
50 odd meet verifications by 40 something people - a mixture of men, women and couples. Add to that many more who know me from my old couple's profile of 5 years too, For me, photo verification is superfluous now.
I've no issue with those who wish to avoid me or doubt that I exist due to my lack of green flag - we all have to do Fab in whatever way we feel comfortable |

I'm very much the type of person who can overcome initial gut instincts. Like intuition is a powerful tool but very much flawed so the overall opinion on here is more important to me on this matter. |

We got verified by a close friend when we opened the profile and then have been verified at clubs several times since. Why would we look to be photo verified?
Even if we did, do admin check every new photo to our verification photo to make sure it's the same people? I'd think not with the number of pictures with "not the missus" captions.
We prefer people who have personal verifications by people who have a few verifications themselves - especially if it's from people we have come across ourselves. |

As I understand it, photo verification is just to verify the type of account ie male/female/couple etc. It’s not a check against other photos on the account.
I’ve not done it, because I’ve got meet verifications that verify I’m what I say I am, and I’m also not comfortable having the types of photos needed for photo verification on the site at all, even if they’re not public. |

Photo verification is worth nothing. We haven’t done it
1. It confirms only your genital situation versus the gender you selected. You don’t need a face pic
2. You can include a face pic. We’re not leaving a digital record of our faces and username anywhere thank you
As with most things you need to keep your eyes open. Fake profiles, photos and Veri’s can be spotted. Report and block
Have fun

As above, didn't want my face and username uploaded, nor did I want to sent a headless naked photo.
So I chose to be verified by the community instead.
I guess it is a handy feature for new women or couples to get their foot in the door by showing they've verified recently..but after that it doesn't Count for much. |

Oh, I didn't know this. From the replies thus-far it seems like I should be fine bumping up how trusting I am of meet verifications assuming the people giving them are also legit looking users.
To your knowledge has the site ever been compromised/hacked?
Thanks for giving your two cents |

Appreciate you reinforcing the others thoughts here. Its reassuring there is a consensus around this. |

It's not that we're "not able" to get photo verified, there seem zero need when we have met dozens of people in person. In reality, it is VERY easy to fake a picture, it is much harder to fake a real person.

How did people avoid photo verification? About a week in after creating our account, we were prompted to photo verify and couldn't access anything else until that was done. We'd have preferred to go with meet verification only (to avoid one extra photo sitting there on a server that could get compromised) but didn't get a choice. |

I agree.
It might be that the system changed but I don't think that everyone has to be photo verified.
No photo verification on my couple profile but had to for this one, which I wasn't happy about. Photos are very easily manipulated and it's a pointless exercise in my opinion.
Ultimately, the only way to be sure someone is who they say they are is to meet them.

I think the photo verified profiles that have been on for years and no physical verifications are the ones for concern. I’d rather meet physical verified over photo verified as anyone can do photo verification. Don’t really see the point in photo verification on here. You don’t need to show your face, so it’s not safe to me. |

Defeintely overthinging the 'value' of verifications but read on.....
I am the opposite, I am photo verififed but without any veficiations from users.
I verified with a full body shot without face (could have been anyone) and I've been asked to trade cum on cam for a verification, which I politely declined.
Neither of these 'veficiations' would have carried any substance whatsoever. My face wouldn't have been seen and nobody would have met me.
Whilst physical veficiations of a meet are better, I have heard of people trading verifications when they haven't got any i.e. you leave me one and I'll leave you one.
Go with your gut also. I've been on Fab on and off for several years. A few years ago and out of the blue a couple who were verified messaged me. This rang alarm bells with me, as this has never happened before or since, a couple messaging me with first contact. At that time, my gut feeling was 'this is too good to be true' but I'll play along to see what they actually want. After what I condsider to be way too many messages over the course of about 3 weeks, a meet was arranged for the following week. They told me I'd be given the address the day before, which they did. I knew the road where the property was and thought it highly suspicious as there were a lot of old people in that particular area. About an hour before the meet (which I wasn't going to), they messaged me to say please don't go there, there is an 89 year old lady lives there on her own. I reported it to Fab but nothing happened but realistically what can they do aside from banning them, only for them to turn up on another account.
In summary, treat any verifications with a pinch of salt. If you get as far as arranging a meet on here, just adopt a common sense approach, meet somewhere where there is CCTV (most places these days) and not in a field at the end of a lane! |

I wouldn't see it in itself as a cause for concern....if all the veries were from thr same person on a hidden profile I'd probably be a little suspect.
But one or two from other verified profiles, I'd be okay x

I think the photo verification has it's place when you are starting out on here. When we started on Fab it felt like much more of a necessity.
What does concern me are profiles with no face verification and just one or two old (1 year plus) from deleted profiles. That triggers warning bells and normally highlights a fake profile of just another pic collector or wanking wonder who has made a bit more of an effort.
Lately though, it seems like the quality of the fake profiles has nose dived. |
