1) Swapping without penetrative sex.
2) Just being in close proximity to another couple but no form of swapping.

Given that "soft" can mean different things to different people. It's best to be very clear as to the boundaries beforehand.
When meeting couples I like to be clear as to no go areas like no actual anal but anal tongue and fingers is fine.
