I hear of lots of socials on here and they sound fab but always way too far for me being stuck in darkest Devon

So was wondering if I tried to arrange one for devon and Cornwall who would come and how do I go about arranging one?

First step is to find a venue, then discuss some possible dates and post it up on the UK forum and the meets/parties forum and people will put their names down on the thread, any advice you need pm me as there are many pitfalls as well as pleasures of organising your own social, x

I don't know if they have repaired the fire damage to the pub yet....but I have used the Old Coaching House in Chudleigh before for group socials.

Decide on the format, find a venue, decide a date, decide on cost and method of payment, decide on method of communication, advertise in the forums.

I would avoid canvasing ideas, dates and locations, as it can easily turn into a nightmare.

Remember it is not possible to please everyone all the time, aim to please some of the people just once to start with.

If people moan, then tell them they are free to organise their own events if yours does not suit.

We are having our first Kent social later this month... Just picked a nice bar for everyone to meet in..... If it goes ok I will look into a private venue for the next one!!

Why dont you ask the new swinging club in Exeter if they would care to offer a venue they might be interested and its fairly close to parking and centre of town.

Hope the fire had nothing to do with you? Would have made the news story more interesting with a group of semi naked swingers running from the inferno!
