The best ones we have been to are fully dressed and informal chat etc till say 10pm.
Then as the clock strikes its outer garments removed, chat becomes even more informal and interesting with everyone in their underwear.
Do we get an invite? |

Meet as many people as you can in advance, so that you can discuss interests and rules, as well as to gauge reliability etc.
Generally, expect a high failure to attend rate hence meeting first, to try to minimise this. |

Our experience is limited. However what has made a house party really awesome for us is the choice of people invited by the host. When you have a host who has a talent for bringing the right people together that's the magic and I think the difference between an OK party and an amazing party. Because sure the other factors of planning and provision are important too. But its people who are the most important factor and its the awesome time people shared with others they'll remember long past remembering if the snacks were plentiful or if there was enough pillows laid out. |

We have helped out with a few house parties and arranged the post party socials.
We always had a social meet a few weeks before as the drop out rate due to dreamers, delusional, just plain time wasters is massive.
Expect to be messed about from pillar to post but there are some great people mixed into the abject nutters.
Never, ever give your private details out and have some way of sidelining timewasters.
Happy to help in private messages, remember it's your home and be very, very careful who you invite or give out details.
Good luck. |
