"I keep getting messages from people in the states about meets. I point out that they live in another bloody county but keep getting more.
Any body else getting this?"
Not getting messages, but all of a sudden have loads looking at me. |

Same here, we did reply saying "sure, send over the tickets and we will pop over"
They replied back saying in all seriousness saying we were taking it too quickly, and they wanted to slow down
Perhaps humour didn't travel |

in my experience of using worldwide websites, ie camrooms mostly..I ended up traveling to england(and then having a relationship from that), before the current climate..I would never have thought of my meet not turning up etc.. and I seen cross atlantic meets happen too, australiaUSA etc etc
it is quite possible, those people in these countries probably would actually meet people by hopping on planes for a short holiday...and theyd probably have a different idea of what a meet is to our view
granted..much will be webcam based interest..like any site, plenty of people will cam n get off on that and promise future in person meetups
and finally, I can get to london fora a few pounds (£3) if I booked way in advance, much in the same way people can go further by doing the same thing
the world IS a smaller place |

*meant to add..Ive known some for over 10years now, from USA etc..so if I had the chance/money..I probably would still meet them
actually its a shame I never got to meet one, as she died just at the start of the year at the age of 36 |

I traveled over to Texas last year to meet a very nice lady who id been chatting to on the web, and had a great holiday to boot, so i wouldnt rule them out either way  |

I don't know whether it's me, but when I see a clever comment posted on the forum, I like to look at the profile, to get a better view of their personality - not to meet (I'm too far away and not interested in cyber sex)  |

I have dealt with our dear friends in our late colonies in the Americas for some time.
Something you need to appreciate is that for a New Yorker, they can travel to Hawaii (at least twice as far from NYC than London is!) and it is ALL in the same country.
Distance to most Americans is not what it is to us. I have no doubt that some of the yanks contacting people on UK Fabs are absolutely sincere about meeting at some point. Jumping on a plane and coming over to the UK (so long as they are one of the just 5% of US citizens who, at any one time, have a valid passport...) is no different to flying from NYC to LA/SF etc.
There is an old saying in the USA from the days of the real Route 66 - "drive a hundred miles for a piece of pie" ... and they actually do.... |

Very true, I met friends (non sexual) from that other site we used to be on and went to Florida 4-5 times and were still freinds and keep in contact  |
