"So how would she get verified then?"
An unverified person is verified by a person who is verified.
Verification is via cam (talking to someone on a live stream, checking to see it's not a video) or in person.
If neither of you are verified, one of you will have to be verified by another person first, who is. (Look for a green tick) |

No.
If she goes on cam with someone who is verified, and they verify her, she will be verified.
If you go on cam with her, you will be in the same position you're already in. You can't verify someone unless you're verified.
It's to stop me verifying my phone in my left hand with the phone in my right hand |

Do you have to submit a photo of the two of you together when you verify someone to prove that you have actually met, or is there another way that you have to prove it? Or do the mods just assume that everyone is 100% honest so trust people to only verify someone they’ve really met?
Surely a verification system that doesn’t require any proof and is simple to fake is pointless… |

If the verification system bothers you so much you really should contact the site owners.
The thing is, it's built on honesty and trust. However it's just an additional tool. You can use it or not use it. The choice is yours. Ultimately it's up to you to use whatever method works for you to ensure the person you're meeting is who they say they are. |

This old chestnut.
I wonder if you'll manage to single handedly take down the verification system Nick.
Have you ever wondered why virtually no one else is banging this drum?
It's because no one really cares. The people with fake veri's are also faking other things. They don't get anywhere.
And every grown ass adult knows that meeting people online inherently comes with a measure of risk and acts accordingly. |

Very much this
The site provides tools that help people work out how to proceed with their individual risks. Verification is one factor to weigh. It's not a babysitter.
This notion of people taking photos together so the site can tick us off a register for something... It's a data breach nightmare waiting to happen and fraught with risk of individuals using these pictures against each other in criminal ways. (And while those risks also exist independently of such a system, that doesn't mean we should heighten them artificially!) |
