As there is a verified list. There should be a no show list. Gets very frustrating, last minute cancellation. Can't help thinking there should be a uber style rating system.

Did they cancel or not show up?

Two very different things.

Cancelled with an hour or so notice, which I do admit is better than a no show. But very short notice, especially after we both finished work early etc.

Agreed it's disappointing, but ultimately everyone can change their mind.

There is an option to report if you feel it was done maliciously

Don't have the energy, probs not malicious. Just bad planning or a bit of a fantasist.

Problem is it would be open to abuse. Someone gets turned down and doesn't like it, so gives bad feedback about a member.

I know it's frustrating, but at least they did at least tell you and not just ghost you.

In light of this new information shouldnt your thread be titled "Cancelled with an hour or so notice"

Everyone has the right to change their mind, you may need to change your plans at the 11th hour one day.

If you think it was done deliberately to fuck you about, report it.

So they weren't a no show and it wasn't last minute.

Can you see now why your idea isn't a good one?

You don’t have the energy to report it but you do have the energy to start a thread with the false claim of a no show and you do have the energy to propose an Uber style rating system so that you can rate someone as a ‘no show’ after they let you know an hour in advance that they couldn’t attend.

Yes, it could have been bad planning or a fantasist but it also could have been someone completely genuine who planned as well as possible but something unplanned and unavoidable came up, through no fault of his own, that stopped him being able to attend.

I’m sure there isn’t a single person who hasn’t had to pull out of doing something at short notice through no fault of their own, try being understanding and tolerant of other people’s situation rather than branding them a no show or a fantasist.

Can't for the life of me figure out how such a system could work but wish it could. I know genuine reasons for last minute cancellations for many but some are serial offenders and have no respect for the time of others.

I feel for you OP especially taking time off work. While technically not a no show pulling out one hour before is almost as bad in practice. Had a couple before we'd met for a social and THEY asked to meet again to play. During the day they both messaged regularly. We got the house ready, got ourselves ready and then maybe 30mins to 1 hour beforehand got the message. "Really sorry but I'm shitting myself and just can't do it". Even it told us a few hours before we wouldn't have wasted time getting ready or could have made alternative plans.

Also had a lady who 5 times made precise plans with me a day in advance and then cancelled hour or two before. Car breakdown twice, busy at work, kids not well, etc. Full house of excuses. I suspected after the second time she wasn't going to meet but went along with it assuming she would cancel as it didn't ruin or alter my day. After the fifth time I said directly I think you are lying and messing me about. She admitted she was not sure she could do it but then she came and we had a good time. She then pulled the last minute cancellation trick twice more at which point enough was enough (she was very local and I didn't have to make big plans or else would never have got that far) I do wish there was a way to make others aware as she is still here and probably doing the same thing to others.

We've all had no shows and cancellations. On the FAB radar I could tell she was within a mile, before changed her mind. (or could have been his mind fantasist)
