I thought they were prescription only. Will be interested to hear whether the OP was able to get them over the counter.
Mother Nature can be a first class b*tch!
We're going to a social / possible more-than-social on April 1st ... Mother Nature is due to call on March 28th. Great timing - as usual!
I have a contingency plan though ... |

Tranexamic acid as far as i know isnt given over the counter its prescribed by your GP as its for irregular and heavy bleeding.
Itll take the pill two days to kick in too. Not much she can do at this point now its started. x |

No medication will work instantly to stop a period once it has started.
Hormonal medications can alter one's cycle, however, they need to be taken at least a month or two in advance.

Ive researched this in the past. Nothing u can do unfortunately once its started thats it. Believe me ive tried!
Its a pain but apparently the beppe sponges are very good for times like this so worth getting some in if its happening unexpectedly often.
Hope u all still have a good night. |

I believe Tranexamic acid is now available as a OTC preparation, however, as already mentioned, it is for treatment of heavy period, and it will not stop blood flow entirely.

I can verify with this it's only used to lighten heavy periods but will not stop it completely, had this when having trouble with my coil in the end had to get it removed.
Hope she manages to sort out something. |
