cam not working

my cam has stopped working on laptop on all platforms google chrome, microsoft edge, firefox any advise on why this is and how to rectify.

it works ok on mobile device.

uninstall and reinstall in device manager for a start.

check settings , the little padlock icon in address bar , click allow cams, also main settings in chrome , check cam and microphone still ticked as allowed

Clear your cookies and cache, then try if still not working uninstall and reinstall the browser apps over time need to be uninstalled and reinstalled so are able to run smoothly as they collect junk files which effects the ability to work

thanks for the replies i think i have tried all them things,

my cam does work in skype but only not in fab i guess there is something that im missing not sure what though.

On the other hand, you could view it as the perfect opportunity to set-up a single woman's profile, because so many of them apparently have cameras that don't work...

Skype is totally another platform which isn't connected with using a browser which you are. So try and uninstall and reinstall the browser clear cookies and cache before hand. It'll log you out from the site and accept the permission on the site where asked.
