Ok limited joy with google and nothing with a search on here but here goes.

Id like to trim my hair on my chest, back, pubis and upper arms.

Now some of it I can do myself but not the back. Id love a reccomendation for some professional male grooming in the surrey area. Not looking for waxing or complete hair removal at this point just clippers would be great. Would be awesome to get some suggestions (clean and relevant would be fabulous) but I understand its not a usual question.

Thanks in advance

Hi Lance, may I ask what you typed into google that only gave you limited joy because I’ve just searched ‘male body grooming near Surrey’ and had plenty of joy so if you search that you should find what you’re looking for.

Do you really need a specialist to shave your back hair off with clippers though? Don’t you have a friend who could do that for you? I know it’s a bit weird but there’s nothing sexual about it, there doesn’t even need to be any actual physical contact. Or phone a few mobile hairdressers and ask if they’re willing to do it.

Have you ever shaved your back hair with clippers before? I got my back hair waxed once and when it started to grow back it was really itchy and annoying, I can imagine that it’s even worse when the hair grows back after it’s been cut with clippers. Shaving body hair with clippers is literally the worst method because of how itchy it is when the hair grows back, why do you think people never shave their legs with clippers, or any other part of their body except for head and face for that matter. Im guessing you want to use clippers because that’s the simplest and least painful method but i think choosing the least painful method will cause you the most discomfort further down the line. In fact I’d be very surprised if a specialist would even be prepared to shave your back hair with clippers because they’d be aware of the discomfort it will cause you.

I don’t have any experience of this and I’m only guessing so i might be wrong, but I’m sure there’s a reason why people choose methods that are more painful when removing body hair, if using clippers was a sensible option then everyone would do it.

Disagree on the shaving body hair with clippers. Yes it you shave it off completely it will itch but not if you just trim. I have mine trimmed with normal beard trimmer set to a few millimetres length. Makes me look so much better neat and tidy and no itching.

Yep thats what i find too, looks ok, (unless its half a job because my arms are not 2 meters long). It also feels good and no itching. I dont have any mates who I’d want to know that I shave my back, way too many questions.

I found lots of male grooming that offererd hair and beard trims but the only body stuff seemed to be waxing. I will have a look again, many thanks to you both

My point exactly, there’s probably a reason why there aren’t any places that offer body body hair removal with clippers. I’m sure that if somewhere offers waxing they could do it with clippers too though, you should phone them and ask.

The reason is just that probably not much demand and so they don't advertise it. It works and I'd recommended it. And it's not removal is it trimming - big difference. When you have a haircut do you say hair removal?

Farnborough

I can only really speak for complete hair removal here. I have been hair free for a number of years … I just prefer it that way.

For most of my body, I simply use a Gillette Venus … a razor designed for ladies, and have used it without any issue. I just shave a different part of my body when I shower .. it takes an extra couple of minutes or so. I sooo love the feeling of being completely smooth, it feels wonderful.

I do occasionally have my back waxed… the only area I can’t reach, but am fortunate enough not to be that hairy in the first place!

I suspect using clippers will leave you stubbly .. which will itch!

Hope that helps

No it doesn't leave you stubbly and doesn't itch. It's just a trim. OP doesn't want all removed. It's like saying having a trim of hair on your head leaves you itchy
