Do People Really Not Care?
Jump to: Newest in thread
Okay so this might be a stupid question, and maybe me overthinking. But basically I haven't fully unpacked after moving somewhat recently, living out of boxes, etc. and I find it somewhat embarasssing. Because of it, I don't currently accom. Now, when I explain this to people I usually get "I don't care, a messy place won't bother me." But I feel like/ am concerned that they will be anyway. Do people really not care about a messy place? |

In my job I go into lots of houses/homes. Because they need to clear out the entire attic area, you can imagine the amount of junk and stuff, they have to put everywhere. Around the house, bedrooms bathrooms every room in the house. But the thing is. There is a different between messy, untidy and being dirty. Most people make sure that their bathrooms is clean. So in a nutshell. No I wouldn't care if a house is messy. But dirty is a total different story. |

"I wouldn't be bothered about you living out of boxes. I'd be bothered by three days washing up, dirty floors and general filth.
Totally this."
This Is why some people are put off not by seeing an untidy home picture but one that shows dirty living

There is a difference between messy and clean , we would have no problem with messy as long as clean , just tha same as If someone was over the top and picked a glass up as soon as you put it down lol messy can be comfortable |

If the space is clean, it being abit untidy and having some moving boxes still unpacked isn't going to matter to the majority.
I think the "instahome" look has really changed how people perceive what a home usually looks like. People have lives, kids, heavy work hours etc that often leaves our houses looking nothing like a show home.
Besides, are the type of people who'd judge something like that even worth your time? I don't think so |

I care
I don’t chose to live in clutter, mess or filth so wouldn’t chose to spend my time somewhere that’s like that.
Different if it’s someone I know well who moved a week ago and is still getting sorted. But for a first meet, someone I don’t know and someone still living like that a while later it would be a turn off.
Any messy background photos for me and it’s a no reply lol. |

Some will translate messy as dirty…. Some won’t
Honestly though, first thing we thought reading your opening post.. won’t accommodate because you think it’s messy, then tidy up…
Anyone who doesn’t accommodate, in our eyes, needs a very good reason, otherwise it sounds like a poor excuse that they are hiding something |
